Hello, There are lots of openings in the government sector for Mechanical engineers every now and then. At present there is opening in Indian Oil for the post of Graduate Apprentice Engineer.Even the final year students can apply.The Percentage requirement is minimum 65%. You can find lots of opportunities in the Govt. sector but to qualify these exams you will have to indeed work hard. There are lot of opportunities for Mechanical Engineers now a days.There are many jobs in Government sector like:- ONGC,BHEL,BHPV,HPCL,SAIL,NTPC..etc The above mentioned companies are of purely mechanical side.So,only candidates from EEE and Mechanical can apply for these jobs.But to get selected you need to have a minimum of 65% aggregate in your B.tech. As a graduate you can apply for these exams CDS,CSAT,Railways,AAI,TNPSC,IES..etc IES is an exam conducted by the UPSC board for graduates from Mechanical,Electrical,Civil,Electronics stream of Engineering. So,work hard and secure a good job with a handy package. |

Not only in india even in abroad also there is professional mechanical engineer needed.To grow your carrior in gov. sector you should have 60% marks in your degree of mechanical engineering.There are some gov. dep. as BHEL, BSNL etc. but if you dont have above percentage than you have to face some problems and have to do struggle in the beginning so that you can settle. And one more thing i want to discuss you why want to go in gov. field cause there is much opportunity and scope in private sec than gov. sec. Once you begin your carrior in private sec further you will touch your fulfillment in future. with best wishes!!!! |

Useful posts by honorable members, note also that employment opportunities are also available in nationalized thermal and hydel power stations, state electricity boards, the metro rail networks in Delhi and Kolkata, and the Indian Post (Well, the government is planning to install letter-sorting machines at certain post-offices, railway stations and airports which face overload).
