The eligiblity for the upsc exam is :

* you hold graduation degree in any stream from recognized university.

* age limit 21-30 yrs

eligibility criterion of the examination is a minimum degree from any recognized Indian University.

and the age required for the same is 21 years and the maximum age limit for general candidate is 30 years.

I think there is no optional subject called Metallurgy but you can take any optional subject from the list of optional subjects. provided by UPSC here is the list just have a look upon it.

Yes of course you can .Metallurgy branch is eligible for UPSC.
If your age is in between 21 to 30 years(for general )and 3 to 5 years relaxetion are given for sc/st/obc , then you are eligible.

Yes , You are eligible for UPSC exam. Metallurgy departments are eligible for UPSC exam.

Those candidate have passed graduation from any recognized university are eligible for UPSC exam.

But your age must be in between 21 to 30 years. Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate as per govt rule.

being an Metallurgy branch candidate you are eligible to appear in UPSC Exam i.e.,, UPSC CSE(Civil service examination)
