Re: What to do after completion of 12th class to become a Pilot?

I should start by writing about the cost of commercial pilot course. The entire course will cost you around 10 to 15 Lakh Indian rupee. It is certainly not affordable for all. But this is the amount that you will have to spend to become commercial pilot.

However you will earn every penny back. Commercial pilots get handsome salary even in Indian airlines. Apart from the fixed salary there are additional perks for the pilots as well.

Eligibility

1. Must complete 12th with PCM subjects.

2. At least 50 percent marks in 12th.

3. The age limit is 18 to 30 years.

Physical Requirements

1. The vision of the candidate should be 6/6.

2. The vision is correctable but only through glasses. Contact lens are not allowed.

3. There should not be a fear of height in the candidate.

4. Minimum height should be 5 feet.

Procedure

Student’s Pilot Licence

You will have to start off by obtaining Student’s Pilot Licence. There is no flying involved in it. That is why even a candidate after passing 10th can apply for it. There is basically a mathematic test which is required to be passed for the licence. The test is related to various aspects of the aircrafts. You need 75 percent marks in the test to clear it.

Private Pilot Licence

You must have completed 12th for Private Pilot Licence. This is when the real test will begin. You will be taught to fly the aircraft. You will have to gain 20 hours of solo flying and 40 hours of flying experience with instructor. Besides that there will be a written test that you must clear before getting the Private Pilot Licence.

Commercial Pilot Licence

The final stage is Commercial Pilot Licence. Once you have obtained it, feel free to apply for job in any airline. But before that, you need to gain 250 hours of flying experience in this stage. Then you will have to pass written tests related to Air Regulations, Aviation Meteorology, Air Navigation etc. At the end there will be a medical test conducted by the team of doctors selected by DGCA.

Dear friend,

There are various steps and stages which you have to clear in order to become a pilot. There are various ways to become a pilot. First of all I am telling you the process of becoming a commercial pilot for general flights.

There are three stages which you have to clear in order to become a pilot. After completing each stage you will get license of that particular stage. The three stages are:-

Step 1:

The first step for joining pilot course is to enroll yourself in any aviation institute.

Step 2:

The second step of the course is that clear the various exams conducted by your aviation institutes after training. You have to go through exams for getting 1. student pilot license and 2. flight radio telephony operators License.

Step 3:

First you have to clear 50 hours of flying and after that you have to clear 5 exams conducted by the directorate general of civil aviation (DGCA). These 5 papers are based on the following topics:-

General Papers:

Navigation
Air regulations
Meteorology

Technical Papers:

Technical general
Technical specific

If you are successful in clearing these exams then become eligible to apply for the exams conducted by the ministry of communication also known as WPC WING.

Step 4:

This is the final step in order to becoming a pilot. In this step you have to pass through 200 hours on single engine flight and 25 hours on multi engine flight. After completing this step you will get your commercial pilot license.

Various courses related to Pilot:-

1:Flight Test Engineer Course (Fixed / Rotary Wing / Avionics / Instrumentation)
