Re: What do you mean by Issue of Share? Share represents a part of ownership of the company. Generally, when a company is in need of money or funds, it will issue shares to the public. Issuing os shares in the sense inviting the public to contribute to the share capital of the company. Each and every share will be issued a certain face value. Shares, once issued, they will be listed on stock exchange after some days. The price at which the share is going to be listed on the stock exchange will decide the profit or loss that an investor is going to incurr. The investors who have suscribed to the shares of a company are known as equity shareholders. These shareholders do have voting rights and eligible to receive dividends and bonus shares which a company isssue as per its profits. Generally, investing in shares is a risky investment. The market value of a share is higly volatile. It will change as per changes in the -Industry -Company -Economy. But shares are a better choice as per long term investment. The marktet in which these shares are being traded is known as equity market. If a company is issuing shares to public for the first time, then it is known as IPO (Initial Public Offer). Some times the companies will also go for Follow on Public Offer later. |
