Re: What is the scope of Geotechnical engineering?

Friend...

There is good scope of Geo technical Engineering in present scenario.

Geo technical Engineering is the branch of Civil Engineering concerned with the engineering behaviour of earth materials.

Geotechnical Engineering uses principles of soil mechanics and rock mechanics to investigate subsurface environment of the earths crust.

This is achieved by determination of physical, mechanical and chemical properties of soils and rock.

With this information, an evaluation of the stability of natural slopes and man-made soil deposits, can be made while assessing risks posed by site conditions.

These investigative aspects support design of earthworks and foundations, monitoring of site conditions, including monitoring earthworks and foundation construction.

Re: What is the scope of Geotechnical engineering?

Geotechnical engineering uses principles of soil mechanics and rock mechanics to investigate subsurface conditions and materials;
determine the relevant physical/mechanical and chemical properties of these materials; evaluate stability of natural slopes and man-made soil deposits; assess risks posed by site conditions; design earthworks and structure foundations; and monitor site conditions, earthwork and foundation construction.

it is a best trade and you also choose this trade.
