Re: What is the difference between software developer and software designer

A Software Designer is someone who works on creating pieces of software at a fairly high level to meet their clients' or managements' various needs. A Software Designer may not actually program the code itself, but is in charge of making sure that all of the various requirements of the software are taken into account before the actual coding begins. They take an eventual goal in mind from their client, and plan through the various stages of development from initial concept to final copy.

A software developer is a person concerned with facets of the software development process. Their work includes
1.researching,
2.designing,
3.implementing, and
4.testing software.
A software developer may take part in design, computer programming, or software project management. They may contribute to the overview of the project on the application level rather than component-level or individual programming tasks. Software developers are often still guided by lead programmers but the description also encompasses freelance software developers.

Dear Aspirant,

These is really a Good question.

Software developer is the one who understand the requirement and tells the solution for it.

He decides the solution and gives the pseudo code for the problem.

Then the programmers/Coders write the code for the program.

Software Designer is the one who designs the requirements of the SDLC and gives a approximate solution for it.

He gives total requirements of the project to the software developer. Then he develops the solution for it.

Then the process continues. Finally the product will be delivered to the customer.

Hope this info helps you.

All the best for your future endeavor's.

Re: What is the difference between software developer and software designer

There is a great difference between the two.Software developer have to deal with the entire software development life cycle.but the software designer have to deal only with the design process i.e.,design concepts such as software architecture, design considerations such as module extensibility, security, etc., and the modelling language and all.
