dear friend,
you can get into a college having aeronautical stream but that wont meet your satisfaction if you are really interested. so friend, try for entrance coaching in a good institute and crack exams,so that you can easily join in a well reputed college instead of wasting your passion in a normal college.so i prefer you to crack exams next time with sufficient preparations. or else you can go for aeronautical engg in many self financing colleges if you have good marks in plus two.
best wishes.

Re: How to become a space scientist?

It is quite nice decision to become a space scientist. To become a space scientist firstly, you should complete your 12th examination and then you can go for various entrance exams like IIT JEE/AIEEE. After qualifying the entrance exam, you have to choose Aeronautical Engineering. In this field, you can further proceed your studies with M.Tech. There are some entrance exams which is conducted by ISRO or NASA which selects the candidates and give jobs as a scientists.

You may also go for graduation and PHD after completion of 12th.
There are a lot of demands in this field.

Wish you good luck.....

Re: How to become a space scientist?

For becoming Space Scientist in India one has to join ISRO ( Indian Space Research Organisation).

Those who want to join ISRO as Space Scientist must have an Engineering Degree with atleast 65 % marks.

The Scientists posts are announced every year and those who pass the written and Interview with merit have greater chance of getting selected.

As your son is in 10+2 means he must opt for Engineering Graduation from a very reputed college if he wants to become a Space Scientist.

Engineering Graduation should be in the stream of Mechanical or Electronics as the scientists post are for these posts only.

The age limit for Scientist post at ISRO is 35 years . Means the candidate must be below 35 years of age. There is age relaxation for SC/ST for 5 years.

So be prepared for Engineering Entrance exam because getting a good Engineering college will ensure that your son gets quality education and becomes a Space Scientist.

Re: How to become a space scientist?

Hello... My name is Vittal Das, studying in 10th standard.
I am greatly interested in Astro-physics, in field of space research and the following is about the same.
Thank you my friends, thank you for becoming the light lamp for many people in street. But what I actually want to know is that:
1. After completing the 2nd year [P.U.C-Science], the person should take the exam of IIST: Correct? or AIEEE or IIT or JEE exam ?
2. Then the concerned person should get the course of B.Tech or any other (P.h.d) ?
3. If the person completes his course, then he should apply for the job. correct?... or he should take more courses ?
4. If all qualifications are fully satisfied... then the person can apply for job at NASA: Correct or not ?
5. Whats the criteria for applying job at NASA? through rally exam or by direct interview ?
Please answer my humble questions. I am waiting for your valuable reply.

Re: How to become a space scientist?

dear friend,
The result shows that your son is very much hard working and talented...

First of all congrats , for your excellent result...

As he wants to become a space scientist in future then I will snuggest to go for ISAT exam..Which is conducted by Indian Institute of space science and technology..

Eligibility for ISAT exam:-------------------------

Re: How to become a space scientist?

hi!

Your son has an excellent academic record. He has the potential for becoming a space scientist since he has developed an aptitude towards physics & maths.

Space science is a broad area. Students desiring to become space scientists can take up course in remote sensing, GIS, Satellite Meteorology and Global Climate, Atmospheric Sciences, Satellite communication, astrophysics, aerospace engineering and astronomy

First of all ask your son in which course/area he is interested in. Once he has determined what area of space science he is interested in, research which colleges and universities provide the most compatible programs for his interests. And finally select the best institute for the chosen area/course.

Some of the institutes conducting these courses are:

Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehra Dun, is a premier centre for training in Remote Sensing.

Centre for Space Science and Technology Education,Dehra Dun conducts courses in Remote sensing and GIS, Satellite Meteorology and Global Climate, Atmospheric Sciences, Satellite communication and Space Sciences.

Re: How to become a space scientist?

First of all i congratulate your son for stepping stone for success,He has got a wonderful track record.

Since your son is interested in becoming in space scientist then it means that he is even interested in studying, even his statistics show that.He has to complete his graduation course and then go for higher studies like P.hd and then go through ISRO and NASA examinations.

The notifications are published in Employeement news.He can even go through ISRO after completing his M.tech from ECE stream, but i suggest him to go for P.hd.

Re: How to become a space scientist?

I would like to congratulate your son for holding such a wonderful track record. Coming to the question. Its great that you are supporting your son for his career choice which is space scientist. Looking at the marks I am sure your son will do good in this field

After your son completes his 12th he can appear for certain entrance exam like ISAT which has certain space related courses in it.

He can even take other way by opting for Aeronatical engineering which is considered to be a backdoor of becomeing a space scientist. To become an Aeronatical engineer he can appear for entrance exams like AIEEE,IIT JEE etc

What is a space scientist

Space scientist is normally a scientist who works in the space to study the different areas of space like satellites, weather etc. Its really a demanding field in India and actually more in abroad.

Candidates can even do courses like BSc in Space science from abroad. After completing your course you can apply for companies like ISRO and if you are an extraordinary student then you can get a job in NASA too!

So the scope is endless. Trust me!

Skills required:

Well to become a space scientist your maths and science must be strong as its a sole criteria which some companies like NASA or ISRO take into consideration while admitting the cadidates.

As said before you must be strong in your maths as well as science. Along with that a good knowledge in computer and writing skills and communication skills can hone their career to another level.

So all the best to you as well as to your son. Wishing him all the best
