GATE Engineering Sciences Exam - Download Previous Years Question Papers The 100 marks GATE Engineering sciences paper is given a total duration of three hours. The whole paper is an objective type one with several choices available. The student is expected to darken only one answer in the answer sheet or else the question gets disqualified. The first 20 questions in the paper carry 1 mark each. The next 40 questions carry 2 marks each. There is negative marking on the paper so as to prevent the students from making rough guesses without any base or reason. There is zero marking for the questions left unsolved.
