Re: Can a candidate of B.Com course appear for IFS Exam? Dear Friend, Yes A Candidate from B.Com Course can appear for the IFS Exam. IFS Exam stands for Indian Forest Services Exam. The Union Public service Commission Conducts the IFS Exam every year. The Eligibility Criteria Required for IFS Examination are : * You should have completed your graduation in any stream from any recognized college/university. * your age should lie in between 21-30 years. * You should have completed graduation in any one of the following streams : Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology * You must have Indian Nationality.  Sorry to say that B.Com student are not eligible for IFS exam.Details of this exam is given below. A Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering of a recognized University or equivalent. Final year student are eligible for IFS exam, AGE CRITERIA The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years. Age relaxation is provide only for reserved category. EXAM DETAILS The notification Date---31.03.2012. The examination Date---14.07.2012. The last date of submission of form---30.04.2012. Apart from being a graduate, you must be within the age limit. The minimum eligible age to write the exam is 21 years. The maximum age limit is 30 years for general category. 33 years for OBC category and 35 years for Sc/St category. So, being a commerce graduate within the age limit mentioned above, you are definitely eligible to write civil services exam, in order to join the Indian Foreign Services. |
