The acronym for GATE is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. GATE is an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering and Technology. The Indian Institute of Science and seven IIT's jointly conduct GATE examination. The GATE Score of a candidate reflects the relative performance level of a candidate. The GATE examination has not require any percentage criteria. The eligibility criteria required for the GATE examination are prescribed as below:- * Completion of graduation in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/Computer application from any recognised college or university. * Completion of post-graduation in Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications from any accredited college or university. * Final year contenders are also eligible. * Percentage and age criteria are not necessary. * Nationality:- Indian. Re: Total percentage required for GATE in B.Tech? Dear.. GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude test for Engineers and it is a exam which is very very tough to clear. Every Engineer lacs of Engineer sit for this exam and take the exam but only a few of them managed to clear the exam. There are many Education institutes opened in every city which promises a sure shot success in the exam and even in the PSU's You can take help from those institute. Qualification :- 1. All the engineers are eligible for the exam 2. Final year student are also eligible 3. Students from any stream of Engineering are eligible 4. No percentage criteria. 5. No minimum percentage 6. No maximum percentage 7. PSU also demand GATE score sometimes So dear 4th point clear says that students with any percentage can apply so stop worrying about the percentage and start a thorough preparation of the exam as the exam is very very tough and the success rate is also very low. If you really want to clear the exam then its better you prepare thoroughly for the exam. Hope it will help Cheers...!!! |

Re: Total percentage required for GATE in B.Tech? GATE exam is conduted by IIT to admission into M.tech.. final year candidate of enggineering or Bechlors degree holders B.E. B.tech. student are eligible for gate exam. there is no limit of percentage of gate . only passing of this exam the candidate get a score card which hold percentile. percentile would be calculated according to total number of candidate apply. |

(a) Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology or its equivalent. (b) Bachelor’s degree holders in Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Electronics/ followed by qualifications obtained through an examination conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE. (c) Bachelor’s degree holders in Architecture/Design (for M Des program only) (d) Master’s degree holders in Physics with Electronics/Instrumentation (for M Tech programs). There are no restriction for attempts in GATE exam.You can apply here maximum time. There are no age criteria but your minimum age must be above 18 years. GATE score is valid for TWO years. NOTE:- 3rd year student are NOT eligible for This year GATE exam. Only final year and pass out batch are eligible for 2012 GATE exam. There is no percentage require for GATE exam. |

The minimum qualification required to apply for the GATE examination is that the candidate must has a bachelor's degree in engineering or the candidate is appearing in the final examination of bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology Architecture.Master's degree holder in Science/Mathematics/Computer Applications can also apply. There is no criteria of marks is imposed.So any candidate who has passed Engineering from a recognized Institution can apply for the GATE examination.
