Yes, Chartered Accountancy course can definitely be pursued after completion of 12th standard. The first stage of the course is known as Common Proficiency Test and is conducted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India twice a year. The test comprise of a total of 200 marks and in order to qualify the test, you will have to score a minimum of 100 marks , i.e. 50%. After qualifying the test, you will be eligible to move on the next level known as Integrated Professional Competence Course which is followed by the following stages:
  • Information and Technology Course
  • Artcileship Training
  • Final Course
  • General Management and Communication Skill Course

The registration for the Common Proficiency Test is open throughout the year and the test is conducted in the month of June and December every year.
The registration form can be obtained from any of the Regional Offices/Branches of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or can be downloaded from the official website of the same.
