MBA stands for Master's in Business Administration. It is a two years post graduate course whose demand in our country is only growing from one year to the other. This course will help you to get accustomed to terms like marketing, strategy, finance, operations, business ethics, entrepreneurship etc. In the long run a course like this will only prove to be beneficial since it helps in getting extra attention and credibility in your profession.

List of MBA Specializations:-
  • MBA in Finance
  • MBA in General Management
  • MBA in Health Care Management
  • MBA in Human Resources
  • MBA in International Business
  • MBA in Management Information Systems
  • MBA in Management
  • MBA in Marketing
  • MBA in Operations/Production Management
  • MBA in Taxation
  • MBA in Technology Management
  • MBA in Quantitative Analysis
  • MBA in Accounting
  • MBA in Decision Sciences
  • MBA in E-commerce/E-Business
  • MBA in Economics
  • MBA in Entrepreneurship

Type of MBA programme:-
  • Two-year (Full Time) MBA
  • Accelerated MBA
  • Executive MBA
  • Distance learning MBA
  • Dual MBA
  • Online MBA

The benefit of an MBA degree is that it helps in developing managerial skills. These skills provide the essentials for dealing with real-time situations pertaining to management and resolution of problems. By getting this degree your knowledge in the field of business administration rises. The specialized skills and leadership qualities taught in MBA programs also provides you with a competitive advantage over others.

Since the demand of this course is always on the higher side therefore to meet the growing demand for this course B-Schools are mushrooming here and there. But when choosing a college it is important that you take into consideration the quality of faculty members the B-School boosts of and also its placement records. Until and unless its reasonably good you should not go for it.

Top MBA Entrance Examinations:-
  • Management Aptitude Test (MAT)
  • Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)
  • Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT)
  • Joint Management Entrance Exam (JMET)
  • Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP)
  • AIMS Test for Management Admission (ATMA)
  • ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test ( IBSAT)
  • NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT)

Out of all these exams, CAT is the most popular one. In order to sit for the CAT exam you need to manage minimum 50% of marks or equivalent CGPA at graduation level. The subject you choose at grad level here does not matters as far as you get the above marks to satisfy the criteria. There is no age criteria to follow as such and there is no restriction on the number of permissible attempts as well.

Hope this helps :-> :->

Re: What are specializations available in M.B.A?

hello friend,

Here are the top 5 MBA Specializations that strike a chord with Indians:

1.Finance

MBA in Finance does not lead only to investment banks and securities firms. It offers numerous possibilities in the corporate world too. Finance Managers can become Accounting Managers who prepare finance reports for the company, or Financial Analysts who focus on developing financial strategies and go about money management for the company.

Those who do MBA in Finance can go on to become:

Cash Managers
Risk and Insurance Managers
Credit Managers
Management Consultants
Investment Banking Associates and later Investment
Bankers
Treasurers and Finance Officers
Controllers (who prepare budget reports for regulatory agencies and business management, do audits and prepare cash management strategies)
The ‘C' Position: ‘CFO' or Chief Financial Officers supervise all financial and accounting operations, strategies, and policies of the company.

2.Marketing

The single most popular specializations amongst MBA graduates in India, Marketing is a hard-core front-end job and is meant for leaders. MBA Marketing is very dynamic and competitive. You need excellent communication skills, resource mobilization skills and an undying zeal to excel to make it to the top-level positions in the field of sales and marketing.

3.Operations

MBA in Operations equips you to deal with Production Management or Shop Floor Management. You learn how to come up with and maintain process flows, develop vendor and inter-departmental relationships, do ancillary management etc. to ensure smooth and efficient business operations. With Business Operations as your MBA specialization, you may start off as Product Manager or Technical Supervisor and reach the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) or General Manager of a company, especially in manufacturing, engineering and IT sectors.

4.Information Technology (IT)

Information Technology (IT) or Management Information Systems (MIS) has recently emerged as one of the most important MBA specializations. For those who have IT background (as a software engineer or IT graduate), MBA IT can open up positions like System Analyst, Technical Systems Manager, Technical Consultant, and Business Development Manager - all the way upto the position of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) or Chief Technology Officer (CTO). IT, ecommerce, and related industries often offer good placements to MBA IT graduates.

5.Human Resources (HR)

Human Resources or HR is one of the trickiest jobs in the corporate world. From Recruitment and Selection of personnel to deciding Compensation to Employee Training and Development to Job Analysis and Performance Appraisals, an HR manager is the ringmaster in the business jungle. Besides, those who choose MBA in HR can also develop themselves as Industrial Relations Manager or developing cross-cultural working environment in multinational and global companies, which are highly specialized jobs.

Re: What are specializations available in M.B.A?

A number of specializations are there in which you can do MBA like-

* Marketing

* Accounting

* Finance

* HR

* Management

* Telecom management

* IT security

According to me the suitable field for you would be HR, Marketing and Telecom management.
MBA in telecom management will be easier and most relevant for you since you are a B.Tech. degree holder.
This field will be somehow related to your graduation. Also the package is high and a number of telecom companies are coming.

Re: What are specializations available in M.B.A?

hi friend,
after Btech your interest is M.B.A.It is a good decision.There are many

specializations in M.B.A.

The standard specializations are:

Marketing

Finance

Human Resources

IT/Systems

Operations

and Entrepreneurship.

Of the above specialization it is better for you to opt marketing or hr or

systems.

It would not good for you to opt for finance because it requires lot of

about accounts and basics.

you can take CAT, MAT exams where you will get opportunities to study in

IIMS and B schools.

But studying CAT is not easy it requires hard work.But if you study well you

can succeed.once you get good rank in CAT you will get good IIMS seat

where there would be plenty of opportunities for you. All the best and get

good rank.
