Journalism has two departments- Print media and Electronic Media. Print Media consists of Newspapers, Magazines and Journals, whereas Electronic Media consists of Television, Radio and Web. There are various courses offered by various Institutes. The courses include Undergraduate, Post Graduate Diploma and Certificate courses. To get admission in reputed Institutes for Post Graduation Diploma course candidate must score good aggregate marks in the bachelors program. Students from any stream may join these courses provided it is done from a recognized University. Every Institutes conducts their own entrance test.

Following are the name of Institutes which offer various programs in Journalism and Mass Communication:

Xavier's Institute of Communication
International Media Institute
RK College of Systems and Management
EMDI Institute of Media and Communication
Chitrabani

Students may also opt for those Universities which offer PG Diploma course in Journalsim and Mass communication through distance mode, such as :

I am a final year student of b.com (pass) correspondence ,doing it from D.U. .what I have to do to take admission in journalism and what is the criteria for this and what should be my approach??? and how much percentage is required in B.com(pass) for journalism????
