The acronym for IAS is Indian Administrative services. Yes, you are eligible to appear for IAS examination. The selection procedure for the IAS examination is mentioned as below:- * Preliminary examination. * Mains examination. * Personal interview. The eligibility criteria required for the IAS examination are prescribed as below:- * Completion of graduation in any discipline from any accredited college or university. * Age limit:- 21-30 yrs. * Age relaxation:- 3 yrs for OBC and 5 yrs for SC/ST contendors. * Physical eligibility like height, weight... is not required. * Nationality:- Indian. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories . (ii) Educational Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification. (iii) No. of permissible attempts : Four (Seven attemps of OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs Yes, you are Eligible for IAS. The above is the eligibility criteri to apply for the same. It does not include any term that is preventing you to apply. All The BEst

Friend In I.A.S there is no medical exam. There are three stage of selection:- > Prelims Exam > Mains Exam > Interview After passing graduation you can apply for I.A.S. Let me tell you that there is no minimum height criteria specified for the IAS exam yes but if you go for IPS then there are some physical measures which you need to follow. so if you are planning for IAS only then there is no need to get disturbed by this small thing as it is not gonna affect you and i advice you to stop thinking about this and concentrate over your studies. Other eligibility is as follows :- 1. All graduate are eligible 2. Graduation must be done from a recognized university 3. Only Indian citizen are eligible 4. Age limit is 20-30 years 5. Graduation subject does not matter at all 6. relaxation to those who belong to SC, ST and OBC 7. Attempts are also limited that is why a thorough preparation in mandatory. 8. No minimum percentage criteria for IAS. Hope it will help Cheers...!!! |

Re: Can I appear for IAS exam if I am 4 feet 11 inches? I believe you are confused between IAS and IPS. You must differentiate between Indian Administrative Service and Indian Police Service. While to appear for IPS entrance exam, the candidate is required to meet some physical criteria. There is no such limit for the IAS. It is due to the nature of work. Since IPS is related to security and law & order, each candidate has to meet certain criteria related to height, chest, weight, eye sight etc. There is simply no such restriction for the Indian Administrative Service. As the matter of fact, even physically disabled candidates can also apply for the Indian Administrative Service. There is some quota for such candidates. I hope this will assure you to apply for the Indian Administrative Service without any fear. Please start the preparations as soon as possible and don't think about the physical requirements. Eligibility 1. A citizen of India is eligible to apply. 2. The candidate must be graduation degree holder. 3. You are not required to meet any percentage criteria in graduation. 4. Age limit for IAS is 21 to 30 years for General candidates. 5. An OBC candidate can apply for IAS till 33 years. 6. While te SC and ST can apply till 35 years of age. Exam Pattern 1. There is no specific exam as IAS exam, to become an IAS officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year. Apart from this the candidate having following eligibility can apply for IAS, Civil Service Exam:- -The candidate must be an Indian national. -Should have either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University -Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years wit upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. To become an IAS officer, one has to crack Civil Service exam conducted by UPSC every year. The eligiblity criteria for the same is as under- 1. Candidate must be an Indian National. 2. Re: Can I appear for IAS exam if I am 4 feet 11 inches? There is no any restriction of height for IAS exam. only you have completed graduate and age should be 21 to 30 for IAS. Physical craitera only regarding for IPS. So you can do prepration and eligible to apply for IAS with same height. |
