 Yes you can for sure apply for CLAT exam now. Any student from any background, be it science, commerce or arts can apply for this exam after giving H.S. exam or its equivalent. To know more about the exam please carefully read the information written below. CLAT's full form is Common Law Admission Test. This is almost like a National Level Law Entrance Test which you can give to pursue both under graduate and post graduate degree in Law. There are fourteen National Law Universities participating in this exam and on securing high marks you will get to study in any one of them. Generally during the month of May this exam takes place and sale of application forms starts from January or February. So it is advisable to keep a check on their official website from this time. The exam is usually conducted by the fourteen universities in turn. They follows a rotation process basically. As said earlier that CLAT can be given both for LLB and LLM. Since you want to do LLB so i am limiting my answer to that only. For the LLB course firstly you need to give H.S. exam or its equivalent from a recognized board or university and at the same time secure not less than 50% of marks at 10+2 level. If you are about to sit for the final exam or awaiting the result of your final exam then also you can sit for this exam. The proof of your result needs to be shown to the authority concerned before the final selection happens. For the SC/ST/OBC and physically handicapped candidates there is a relaxation of 5% which means that they need to secure 45% of marks instead of 50% of marks. For this exam the upper age limit for general category and OBC category candidate is 20 years. For SC/ST candidates the upper age limit is 22 years as on 1st July of that year. Exam Pattern:- As far as the exam pattern is concerned the question paper will be mainly loaded with multiple-choice questions. There will be a total of 200 questions of 200 marks. So each question will carry one mark. The total duration of the exam is two hours. It should be noted that earlier there was no negative marking as such. But from now onward for every wrong answer you give 0.25 marks will be deducted from your original score. Weightage should be given to the following subjects:
