Hi Mrs.VEENA,

Well, For Doing MS in US most preferable exam is Graduate record Examination GRE.

As most of the US institutes prefer that exam.

GRE is a Exam having Three Sections:
  1. Quantitative Reasoning (130 - 170 score)
  2. Verbal reasoning (130-170 score)&
  3. Analytical Writing (0-6 score)
Totally score be awarded out of 340 and a score about 320 will fetch you a good university in US with scholarship if your academics also good.

Some universities also want to test for foreign language so TOFEL exam is also important which will test Speaking Listening and Writing skills in English. and Score will be awarded out of 10 a minimum of 6.5 to 7 will be good enough.

fees is around 10,000/- and exam will be there every month and score is valid for 5 years.

After scoring consult about universities and apply according to your score. Once you receive college admission letter apply for VISA n all.

Learn Patiently and Appear for exam.

All the very best from my side!!

Re: What is the procedure to do MS mechanical if I am a mechanical engineer

Hi friend
That is good decision to do a MS (mech) it is a very simple procedure.
First of all you have to apply for GRE and TOFEL exams which are the entrance for doing ms in US.
For GRE it is better to take the coaching to score the good marks.By scoring good marks in GRE exam you can forward to good universities and will get a scholarship.
After completion of GRE you have to apply TOFEL which is testing the good communication of the student. In this hav to get good score.
Total marks of GRE is 370.....out of that you have to score 310 plus to get a good university....not only in gre if you have good percentile in your b.tech i.e.., is beneficial for u to approach universities....
After all this process you can go for good consultancies to know about the universities in US related to mechanical.
ALL THE BEST
