Re: Do candidates of B.Sc in Maths, Physics and Chemistry eligible for M.Sc in Statistics? If Mathematics subject is your Honours/Major/Main subject of your B.Sc. or you have studied Mathematics subject for at least 2 years (or 4 semesters) then you are eligible for M.Sc. in Statistics. If Mathematics is your major then you can apply for M.Sc. in Statistics. The eligibility criteria may vary for some institute but the above stated is applicable in most of them. For admission in this course you should appear the entrance exams of Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) http://www.isi.org.nz/stats.htm Indian Institute of Science (IISc) http://www.iisc.ernet.in/ Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) http://www.iitb.ac.in/ The ISI and IISc conduct their separate entrance exams. EVery year any one IIT conducts IIT-JAM on behalf of all IITs for admission in M.Sc. courses. You can apply for IIT-JAM too. |
