If your aim is to take admission in top business schools then please appeared for CAT/MAT Examinations.

CAT stands for Common Admission test and this examination is Conducted by IIM's every year and the notification will be published soon in the month of August every year.

MAT stands for Management Aptitude test and this examination is conducted by AIMA, 4 Times in a year. The examination is Conducted in February, May, September and December.

Those who have cracked the examination with good marks are eligible for Group discussion and Personal Interview. If you cracked all these stages, then you will get admission in MBA in top colleges.

many top business schools is also conducted his own entrance examination and you can also apply directly for that examination, if you missed the CAT/MAT Examination. So if you completed your Graduation then you are eligible for taking admission in MBA.

MBA is a pg course whoch refers to master in business administration.

Procedure of taking admission in MBA:-

The minimum qualification for mba is that the applicant should be graduate from any recognized university with atleast 60%.

The manay entrance exams are held for direct admission in mba which are:
CAT, MAT, GMAT, XAT, ATMA etc.

After cracking any one entrance exam from above list the candidate are invited for a group discussion from colleges.

And after group discussion a personal interview is held and then at last the admission is confirmed by institute.

some colleges only see the score card of any entrance exam and take only a personal interview for mba admission. It depends only on college'admission criteria.

For admission in MBA the candidate must hold a bachelor degree from a recognized university. THose who are in their final year of Graduation can also apply.

First of All you will have to give a written examination test which will consist of multile choice question on maths, verbal, reading, logic & business awareness.

These written test may be conducted by the institute itself or it may be apart of a common all india type test.
These are usually 2 hours objective test and are conducted once in an year.
These test include-

Verbal Ability- it checks your usage of grammer, vocabulary etc. in English

Data Interpretation (DI)- this is to check the candidates ability to analyze the hraphs, pie charts etc.

Reading Comprehension (RC)- This checks the comprhensive skills of the candidate

Logical Reasoning (LR)- Puzzles , deductive reasoning etc.

General Awareness/Business Awareness (GA/BA)- the candidates knowledge of current affairs and bussiness events is checked through this.

Quantitative Ability (QA)- It covers topics like average, loss profit, algebra, geomtry etc. to test the mathematical skills of the candidate.

Those who qualify the written exam will have to go through Personality Assessment which includes Group Discussion and Personal Interview

Re: What are the steps required for going MBA?

You have to give the CAT, MAT or XAT exam if you want to study MBA.

Eligibility criteria for MBA:-

The eligibility criteria for one year full time MBA program is bachelor's degree from a recognized university in any discipline. Minimum Age limit is 27 yrs at the start of the course. Not too old GMAT score is also required.

For part time MBA program Bachelor's degree in any discipline is required. Diploma holders needs to have a minimum of 3 yrs of work experience. You have to sit for the entrance exam that test the analytical, verbal and numerical abilities of students.

For specialized MBA program bachelor's degree, work experience, entrance exam and GD, PI results are taken into consideration.

Hope this helps
