Re: How to prepare for IAS exam? Date of UPSC exam?

Hello Friend,
The Civil Services Exam will be constituted in three phases
Preliminary Exam
Main Exam
Interview Round.
In prelims questions will be from GS and Current Affairs, English and general and reasoning aptitude. So prepare well for this round through reading newspapers and magazines, NCERT books of Claas 6 to 10 for history and geography, and practice hard for english and reasoning papers.
In main exam you will have to give exam of two optional subjects, compulsory english and hindi paper and of General Awareness.
After qualifying you will go to interview round.
Date of UPSC CS Exam is 12.06.2011
Forms will be available from 19.02.2011 to 21.03.2011.
Good Luck.

The Preparation For Civils is like a long term investment. You will need atleast one full year for its preparation.

The Pattern for Civils is CSAT & GS in Prelims and for Mains

In mains You have to give these papers

Paper I One of the Indian languages
Paper II English
Paper III Essay
Papers IV and V General Studies
Papers VI, VII, VIII and IX Any two subjects from optional subjects & Each subject will have two papers

Its forms are Currentlty available in Post Offices but if you are not prepared yhen dont give its exam otherwise you will loose your one chance

For its preparation read news papers editorials. competitive magzines, & goverment magzines like yojana, Bharat etc

Re: How to prepare for IAS exam? Date of UPSC exam?

hi!

The notification for CSAT, 2011, (earlier called prelims exam), the first phase of civil services exam. has not been issued yet. It is expected to be issued in the month of february.

The examination structure of CSAT comprises of one paper consisting of questions from general studies and the other paper focusing on the aptitude skills of the students.

So you should try to improve your aptitude & general awareness. Read some good newspaper daily like Times of India or The Hindu. Refer competitive magazines like pratiyogita darpan, year book, yojna etc. Also try to solve model aptitude papers.

Re: How to prepare for IAS exam? Date of UPSC exam?

Preparing for the CSAT examination is really not that tough. You need to concentrate on your English and History and Civics part so that you score well in the exam

The preliminary stage consists of two papers.
The first paper basically consists of History of India,Current events,Indian and World geography,Economic and Social development and general science.
The second paper basically consists of English part i.e Decision making and problem solving, mental ability and basic numeracy.

Its better that you first go through 9th and 10th books of ICSE so that you get an idea of History and Civics and modern Civics and then go through NCERT books. To stay updated about the current events you just need to go through the newspaper daily.
