Hello Friends,
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India entrance examination conducted by 14 National Law Schools/Universities for admissions to their under-graduate and post graduate degree programs(LL.B & LL.M).


Eligibility for Under graduate course:

Educational qualification-
+2 or equivalent with minimum 45% aggregate mark (40% for SC/ST).
Candidates who are appearing or have appeared in the 10+2 examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test.

Age - Below 20 years of age as on 01st July, 2013 (22 years in case of SC/ST candidates)


Eligibility for post graduate courses:

Educational Qualification -
A candidate should have obtained a LL.B/B.L. degree or an equivalent degree from a recognized university with not less than 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC/ST candidates).
The final year students of the degree course is apply for the exam.


How to apply:

SBI: OMR Application Forms along with the CLAT-2013 Information Brochure will be made available at the designated branches (refer-www.clat.ac.in) of the State Bank of India (SBI) and in all the participating NLUs mentioned above against payment of Rs.3000/- only (Rs.2500/- in case of SC/ST candidates on submission of proof) excluding the bank charges. For purcahasing Application Form from the designated branches of SBI, fees can be paid through a ‘Challan’ by furnishing the required information about the candidate as specified in the 'Challan' form.

OR

Participating NLUs: Candidates can make payment either through ‘Cash’ or ‘Demand Draft’ for Rs.3000/- only (Rs.2500/- in case of SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of the Registrars of the concerned NLUs to be payable at the respective cities of their location.

OR

By registered/speed post: Application Form and CLAT-2013 Information Brochure can also be procured through registered/speed post by sending a requisition letter (with Father’s Name, Contact Numbers, detail Mailing Address and PIN Code) to the Convener, CLAT-2013, Hidayatullah National Law University, Post – Uparwara, Abhanpur, New Raipur – 493661 (Chhattisgarh) along with a Demand Draft of Rs.3100/- (Rs.2600/- in case of SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of “Registrar, HNLU – CLAT 2013 A/C” to be payable at Raipur (Chhattisgarh).
Note: Application fee includes an additional amount of Rs.100.00 being charged for sending the Application Form and Information Brochure through Speed/Registered Post.

Admission Criteria:
Under graduate program -Admission will be on the basis of merit cum preference.
Post graduate program - Admission will be finalised by the respective institutes on the basis of the score of the candidates in CLAT examination.

Total Marks 200
Total number of multiple-choice questions of one mark each 200
Duration of examination Two Hours
subjects:-
English including Comprehension 40 Marks
General Knowledge/ Current Affairs 50 Marks
Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) 20 Marks
Legal Aptitude 50 Marks
Logical Reasoning 40 Marks

Yes, you will have to give entrance exam in order to apply for LLB course.

Most of the universities conduct their own entrance exam, where you can apply and can get admission on the basis of merit list.

CLAT - Common Law Admission Test is conducted for admissions to 14 prestigious national law universities of India.

Eligibility criteria -

Age - Maximum 20 years for General / OBC and 22 years for SC / ST as on 1st July of the year of exam.

Qualification - Minimum 50 % in 12th for General/ OBC and 45% for SC/ ST.
Final year students can also apply, provided that they should have their passing certificate at the time of admission.

CLAT for 2012 has already been conducted in May this year.

Before knowing the procedure, it is wise to know the eligibility to apply for CLAT. Here is the Eligibility

CLAT is an all india entrance exam conducted by 11 National Law Universities for admissions to their under-graduate and post graduate degree programmes (LL.B & LL.M).
To sit in CLAT exam for undergraduate course you need to pass class 12 with minimum 50% or 45% in case of sc/st/obc and your age must be below 20 years and not more than that and 22 years in case of sc/st.

As to attend the CLAT entrance examination a candidate must pass 10+2 or equivalent with 50% aggregate marks. Candidates must be 20 years/ 22 years for RC. Candidates are required to submit proof of passing the qualifying exam. Failure to do so possibly will result in cancellation of admission.
