Re: Age limit for appearing for IES exam? Candidate should have completed 21 years or attain 21 years? Eligibility criteria for IES exam - 1. Graduation from any recognized university . 2. Age limit = 21 to 30 years . 3. Candidate should be a citizen of India . 4. Number of permissible attempts = 4 times foe general (7 times for sc/st) So if the exam date is after your 21th birthday then you are eligible .Otherwise you are not eligible ,because candidate with age less than 21 years are not allowed . Indian Engineering Services (IES) is conducted by UPSC in every years. The age criteria is given below: 1. For general category student the age must be between 21 to 30 years. 2. For SC/ST student the upper age relaxation is 5 years. 3. For OBC student the upper age relaxation is 3 years and for PD candidate the upper age relaxation is 10 years. Dear Friend IES Exam Eligibility: Age Eligibility: You need to be between 21 years to 30 years on the 1st August, 2011. Age relaxations exist as per Govt. rules. So check according to your date of birth you are eligible or not. |

It means that candidate should not have age more than 3o years & not less than 21 years. In case if you are of 21 years then you are eligible for IES exam. Relaxation in age:- SC/ST--- 5 years. Hello friend, To be eligible for the IES exam, you must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be over 30 years. (relaxation of upto 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC's). AGE LIMIT:- 1)candidate must have completed 21 years of age by 1st august of that year in which he/she is going to appear. MAXIMUM AGE LIMIT FOR DIFFERENT CATEGORIES:- GENERAL=30,OBC=33,SC/ST=35.
