Hi

first step is to get your graduation. There is no fix graduation which is required for
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in engineering, biological science, physical science or mathematics.

You should choose a field of study that is of interest to you; this will ensure that, whatever course your career takes, you will be prepared to do something that is personally satisfying. You can obtain information on the backgrounds of the current and past astronauts at the following website:

All the best

You'll have to compete your post graduation as well (mtech in aeronautical) in order to be eligible to be an astronaut. This is one of the more challenging fields amongst others but is equally rewarding if you make it big. The most famous company which invests most money in the world is NASA based in USA. ISRO is the organisation in India which caries out space missions.

THOUGH IT IS VERY TOUGH BUT REMEMBET NOTHING COMES EASY IN LIFE....... U WANNA HEARD AS THE BEST IN THE FEILD GO OTHER AND EARN IT.....MAY GOD BLESS U!

hi....!!!!

-->eligibility criteria:-

-you must have done +2 with physics, chemistry, maths.

-your marks should be atleast 60%.

-you have to give the entrance exam AIEEE if you clear this exam with good rank then you can get admission in one of the best institutes.

-you can also get admission in any institute through quotes that are made by the college.

-it can be management quota,sikh quota,SC/ST/OBC quota.etc

all the best.....go ahead!!!

All right so you want to be astronaut and want to do a B.Tech course if possible to do so. Well that is fine, you can do Engineering and become astronaut later. However it is a very lengthy process to become astronaut especially since there are no such openings in India for the post of astronaut. Here you will have to apply for job in NASA which is US space agency.

As you may know that NASA sends men mission to space where astronauts are required to stay at International Space Station for specific number of days. The aim of each space mission is different. Sometimes it has to do with research while sometimes it has something to do with repairs. Hubble Telescope which is responsible for providing such some of the most extraordinary images of the universe requires maintanence every few months or once in couple of years.

Apart from that NASA is also looking to send men back to moon as possible to Mars as well. In these scenario, it requires astronauts for such brave missions. This is the reason why most opportunities are provided by the NASA.

If you want to work as astronaut for ISRO, well it is not possible at the momemnt. But looking at the huge leap ISRO has made in the space technology and research, it is matter of time before ISRO starts to send men to space.

Here is the complete process to become astronaut.

1. Your subjects in 10th and 12th class should be PCM. This is also required to do B.Tech.

2. After 12th you have some options ahead. You can do bachelor's course in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. Alternatively there is option of what you may prefer which is Aerospace Engineering.

3. For Aerospace Engineering you will have to first appear in entrance exams like IIT-JEE or AIEEE etc. Following which you will get admission in a university for 4 years long B.Tech course.

4. Once you have completed the B.Tech, appear in the GATE entrance exam and do a post graduate course in Engineering.

5. Your studies do not end there, the last step would be PhD.

6. Now since you would be applying for the job of mission specialist in NASA, you would require to have at least 3 years of professional experience.

7. Once the step 6 is completed, appear for the NASA entrance exam to recruit scientists and astronauts.

If selected by the NASA, you will go through several physical and mental tests along with extensive training to become astronaut. You will be taught to cope with zero gravity in space and many others things in the NASA training center.

Once you are ready, you will get the ticket to space on one of the space missions conducted by the NASA.

hello!
In order to become an astronaut you are required to take up engineering (btech org be) after 12th grade as your graduation course. There are several institutes which offer this course, both private and government though there are more private universities which offer aeronautical engineering. The course is a 4 year course like any other engineering course. You'll have to compete your post graduation as well (mtech in aeronautical) in order to be eligible to be an astronaut. This is one of the more challenging fields amongst others but is equally rewarding if you make it big. The most famous company which invests most money in the world is NASA based in USA. If you have any more queries you can reply on this thread. Good luck.
