You have to start preparation for Gate or PSU's Exams.If you got good rank in Gate than you are directly called by Govt. companies otherwise you can give written exam of PSU companies.So, you can get govt. jobs in your field.Have a nice future. |

The most reputed and renowned sector for Engineers is Indian Railways. For getting into Indian Railways, you have to clear an exam called Indian Engineering Services (IES). Post exam, you will have to appear for an interview and the final allotment will be on merit basis. The notification regarding the exam generally comes in the month of Feb every year you are get job in Government and Private company after complete B.Tech (ECE). But if you want to get government jobs in field of engineering then there are options like 1. CDSE- Combined Defence Services examinatons 2. DRDO exams 3. ISRO exams also there are several other government exams not related to engineering field like IBPS,IB,CBI,SSC etc. otherwise for private jobs you don't need to give entrance exams . You can apply for job in Public Sector Undertakings or through PSU Exam or other government departments through Indian Engineering Services (IES) entrance exam. These are the options you should consider first. If fail to meet criteria then only apply for jobs like Bank PO etc which aren't exactly related to your field. Let us begin with Public Sector Undertakings. The companies that are primary controlled by the government of India are called Public Sector Undertakings. Here government of India is the major stakeholder and controls power to take all the decisions. Each Public Sector Undertaking conducts an exam to recruit engineers for various posts in the company. The process of recruitment includes a written exam which is followed by a interview. There is no single exam and you will have to apply for each PSU separately. You can find out about the exam through notification which is published in the newspapers as well the official website of the company. Before you apply for a PSU exam, please ensure you are meeting this criteria. Eligibility 1. Only Indian citizens can apply. 2. B.Tech degree from a recognized university. 3. Minimum percentage of 60 percent in B.Tech. 4. There should be no pending backlogs. 5. A valid GATE score not more than 2 years old. 6. Age limit to appear is 21 to 30 years. 7. SC/ST are given 5 years relaxation. 8. OBC can apply till 33 years of age. List of PSU Companies ISRO MTNL BSNL BHEL DRDO BEL HPCL ONGC IOCL SAIL NALCO GAIL ECIL BPCL NTPC Indian Engineering Service (IES) As I mentioned earlier, IES exam is conducted to recruit engineers for various posts in the government departments. Some of these departments include: Indian Railway Service of Engineers. Central Engineering Service. Indian Defence Service of Engineers Indian Ordance Factories Services etc Eligibility 1. Only Indian citizens can apply. 2. You must have B.Tech degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Electronics and Communication Engineering. 3. There is no percentage criteria. 4. Age limit for exam is 21 to 30 years. 5. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST as per rules of government of India. |

As you have completed Graduation from E.C.E you will have good opportunities in both Government and private sector. You must have atleast 60% of marks(aggregate) And must not have any backlogs in B.Tech.Refer the newspapers and websites for notifications for various jobs. You can also apply for clerk, PO/Specialist officer position in any nationalized banks. Some of the reputed government sector companies such as NTPC, ISRO, BHEL, and DRDO etc offer jobs in technical cadres. Refer to employment papers for notifications issued by these organizations. |

There are many exams conducted by SSC , UPSC , Railways and others every year. So you have many option if you are a engineering graduate. You can apply for Exams like IAS , IES , IFS , CDS etc which are conducted by UPSC every year. There is AFCAT also if you wish to join Air force. If you want to join defence then make sure you are medically fit. There is a exam conducted by SSC which is known as CGLE and graduates in any discipline can apply for it. You can also apply for sub inspector exam of SSC if you wish to join police force. You also have opportunities in various government companies which hire engineers like BHEL, GAIL, ONGC etc. These companies prefer GATE qualified candidates but you can apply if you are non GATE also .IF you are lucky you might get the job. There are many opportunities for engineers in government sector but you have to pass the written exam and interview to get the job. So you must be well prepared for these exams then only you will get the job. So start preparing for the exams if you want to get the job. |

Today most of the companies atake the intake through GATE So dear if you are wishing to have a job in government sector than you should get ready for the challenge GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering) Its an all India level entrance exam for doing master's degree in technical field namely M.Tech. But It has got its significance also in getting jobs in government sector. So all you need to do is to join either a coaching or prepare yourself for it. Bring a good gate score and the job is yours. |

Whether it is the public sector or the private, you can get a job in any of the sectors. But being a student of a core branch, I would suggest you to opt for the core companies. There are many core companies in India as well abroad. So you can definitely opt for these companies.
