Re: Which course should I do after my school?

It is good that you are thinking about your future well in advance.

Infact this is the best thing to do which many of the candidates will neglect to do.

First decide upon the subjects in which you are having more interest.

And then decide upon the kind of industry in which you want to get the job and the kind of job which you are interested to do.

Depending upon that, opt for respective courses in your academic levels.

If you are interested to get into Science field, you can opt for the courses

MBBS
BDS
B-Pharmacy course etc.

Having interest to join in software field, you can opt for the courses like
B.Tech
BCA
MCA

If you want to go for commerce field, you can opt for the courses like
MBA
BBA
PGDBM etc.

Whatever the course you join, try to get more subject knowledge in that course.

You can also appear for the Entrance Exams (competitive) if you want to get any public sector job.

Take guidance from the lecturers and from other intelligent people and compare yourself of what course to join.

Wish you all the best.

Hi

Its indeed very nice and appreciable of you that being in just class 8th, you are so worried and concerned about your career. Though class 8th is to early to think about your post school education and options, still I would illustrate a bit about the options which you can look at after finishing school.

Firstly, you would have to finish your 8th class and 9th class respectively. After that you would have to attempt your Class 10th board exams if applicable. This is the first part that you have to clear and after that you would have to select streams from the following three for your Higher Secondary schooling:-

1. Medical (PCB, or PCMB)
2. Non Medical (PCM)

So your career after Class 12th would depend on the stream which you choose to study after class 10th. So please understand the utmost importance of the subject which you select after you clear your Class 10th exam.

Now if you choose the Medical stream, then you would have to study the 3 compulsory subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with English and a 5th one. In this, you would be able to make any career which is related to the Medical stream like MBBS, BDS, Pharmacy, etc.

If you choose the Non Medical stream, then you would have to study the 3 compulsory subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with English and a 5th one. So in this one, you would be able to make up any technical career like B.E, B.Tech, Architecture, etc.

Now according to your question, I would first recommend that whichever subject you love doing or studying you should go for that because both of these require a lot of studies and so only if you are ready to be so inclined and dedicated to the higher studies, then you may take these up. But personally speaking, medical careers take a lot of time to settle and establish themselves, however the Engineering careers are quick and yield better results and output. So you can now well decide which course you might want to do.

Some of the top Engineering Entrances in India are: IIT JEE, AIEEE, DCE CEE, BITSAT, WB JEE, UPTUEE, SRMEEE, VITEEE, etc and many more..Also some of the medical entrances are: AIPMT, State PMT's, BDS etc..
So you have to aim to crack these exams if you are to take up a career in any of these top 2 fields.

Hope this helps
All the best

Re: Which course should I do after my school?

This is for you if you are ready to select a career path, did reasonably well in an academic program at school, and are able and ready to study and learn in a traditional setting. If you are thinking of university or college you will need good grades in high school course work to get accepted to a school, or you must be willing to take extra time to upgrade in a post-secondary college prep program. Just because your grades right out of high school weren’t great does not mean that college or university is not an option for you, it just means you’ll have to take a slightly longer path in getting there. As for career training programs, like the ones noted above, your high school grades may be less important but could come in to play when seeking financial aid for tuition. Check with the training center of your choice for details.

The biggest hurdle faced by many people wanting to go on to post-secondary schools like university or college is the high cost of tuition and books. If your parents or family can afford to pay your way or if you have an education savings account this may not be a concern for you but if you’re not so lucky you still have options. Extremely good grades can help in getting full or partial scholarships or bursaries but student loans are available to everyone, even if you just squeaked by with minimum entrance requirements. Visit the Registrars Office or Financial Aid Center at the school you plan to attend to find out more about your funding options.

College and university are not for everyone and you should not feel bad if this path doesn’t feel right for you. Vocational training is also not for everyone as the learning structure in these programs is patterned after the traditional academic model. If high school was a struggle for you academically you may find this a frustrating choice. While a difficult time in high school should in no way deter you if you really want to go on to a college or university be aware that the learning environment is not much different than high school and be prepared to deal with whatever it was that made high school learning a challenge for you.
