Re: How to become an IAS officer after passing class 10th?

You don't have to give any online entrance exams or anything else. Right now your focus should be on completing 10th standard followed by 12th and graduation. Keep your focus on the studies.

Only during the final year of graduation you should start to prepare for the Indian Administrative Service entrance exam.

However there are things for which you can prepare even now. For example you can improve your English for the exam. You can take tutions or attend some English speaking classes to improve the holde over the language.

Apart from that read newspapers and watch news to keep yourself updated to any major news around the world.

But apart from that there is not much that you can do. During final year of graduation you can read NCERT Books for 12th standard as well prepare for the optional subjects.

There will be 2 optional subjects in Main Examination of the Civil Services Exam. You can not prepare for the optional subject right now. You can only decide upon the optional subjects during graduation. Perhaps subjects related to your degree course.

Once you have covered all aspects of the examination, take mock tests online and download sample papers to solve. All this can not and should not be done now. Wait for final year of graduation or do it after completing graduation.

IAS Eligibility

1. Indian nationals only can apply for Civil Services Examination.

2. Qualifying course will be graduation degree in any discipline.

3. No marks criteria for the qualifying course.

4. The lower age limit to apply is 21 years.

5. Candidates can not apply after turning 30 years.

6. Although OBC can apply up to 33 years.

7. SC/ST can apply up to 35 years.

8. There are no physical criteria for the IAS.

Selection Procedure

1. Preliminary Exam

2. Main Exam

3. Personal Interview

The minimum academic qualification that you should possess in order to become IAS Officer is Graduation.

As you are in the 10th class, it is the right time for you to think about your future and opting for the respective courses accordingly.

So what I suggest you is please check the complete notification released by UPSC to recruit the candidates into civil services like

IAS
IPS
IFS etc. by civil services exam.

Then you will come to know the complete information about civil services exam.

Choose the optional subject which you are interested and on the basis of that opt for the respective streams in your 10+2 and Graduation.

Then it will be easy to crack civil services exam.

The complete selection procedure is by
CSAT Exam (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
Civil Services Main Exam
Interview

The required age criteria for the candidates to apply for this exam will be
21-30 years for the candidates of General category
21-33 years for the candidates of OBC category
21-35 years for the candidates of SC or ST category.

Graduates from any stream are eligible to apply for this exam. So, you don't need to worry about your stream in Graduation.

Have good preparation for this exam along with your Graduation course.

Improve core knowledge in the stream which you have opted for.

Wish you all the best.

Re: How to become an IAS officer after passing class 10th?

You need to qualify the selection process conducted by UPSC to join IAS. Graduation is the basic qualification required to attend the entrance test. The test is paper oriented and it is not conducted online. Exam preparation can be initiated after collecting detailed exam syllabus from UPSC portal. Reference books, e-books, and previous year question papers can be used for studies.
