Re: How to become a commissioner of income tax? Hi friend….. You have to take up the Civil services exam (The same as for IAS, IPS etc).. Once u clear the priliminary, u'll have to prepare for the mains.. While choosing the options (such as IAS, IPS, IFS etc), u'll have to choose IRS (Indian revenue Services).. If u clear the exam & the interview, u'll become the Commissioner of Income Tax.. For further info go to http://www.upsc.gov.in/general/civil.htm its good that you want to become a Income tax officer. Daer you have to go for SSC CGL exam conducted every year by SSC and if you get good rank in that exam then you can easily become a Income tax officer. First of all let me tell you the eligibility criteria for this exam :- A candidate must be a graduate Graduation must be done from a recognized university Age limit is 20-27 No relaxation to General candidates Relaxation is given to SC ST and OBC candidate No minimum percentage limit It is conducted in two parts (Tier I & Tier II) Tier I subjects are :- Maths GK Reasoning English Paper will be of 200 marks with 50 questions form each subject Tier II :- 2 paper on same day English :- 200 marks Maths :- 200 marks After exam Interview and computer proficiency test will be taken based on the Marks that you achieved.
