Hi,

I want to add one more method which can help you to become a exam and that is CSIR NET Exam.
This exam is specially for the science student. This is an entrance exam for lectureship or JRF.The JRF is for 3 years , You can exceed to 2 more years.
This can led you to become a scientist.

Dear friend,
As you want to be a scientist in future then you have to first complete your Master course... After completion of your Master course you have to go for P.hd.. After that you can go for Research in your subject...

So, if you really want to be a scientist in future then go for your master degree course first..
For becoming a scientist you must have a brought knowledge in your field...
You should have a clear concept...
You can apply for Master degree course in IIT's , IISC..
where you will get good faculty facility, they will help you to do live project under their guidance....
So, prepare yourself , gather knowledge as much as possible..
Go for it...
All the best...

Re: How to become a scientist after completing B.E in Mechanical? Eligibility criteria for it?

Dear Friend

If you want to get a job of scientist then you should apply for jobs in
ISRO,
DRDO,
BARC,
Satish Dhawan Space Centre
Tata Institute of Fundamental Research
Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore
Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam
National Physics Laboratory etc.

Apart from research centers you can apply for Ph.D./JRF in IITs, IISER, IISc for
high profile research works.

The notifications for jobs in these institutes and research centers, are published
in Employment News and their official website.

If, presently you are a student (not completed 3rd year) you should start working in research area from now on.
Ask your faculties for some project work in the field of your interest.
For this you will have to decide first that in which area you want to propagate your
research work.
You can also apply to professors in IITs or professors of foreign universities by
mentioning your area of interest. If your area of interest matches with some professor's
ongoing project work, they will offer you summer (or winter) internship during vacations.
