IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.

IBPS Exam is conducted for recruitment to the posts of PO and Clerk in 19 Public Sector Banks.


Exam is conducted twice in a year.

The candidate must have completed Bachelor course from any recognized University to be eligible for IBPS Exam.

AGE LIMIT:

For Clerk: 20 to 28 years.

For PO: 20 to 30 years.

IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. This exam is conducted for various posts like probationary officers, clerical cadres, specialist officers and so on. There are 20 public sector banks which participates in this exam.

For the post of clerical cadres you need to be a graduate in any discipline of your choice from a recognized university or a deemed university recognized as such by the Central Government. The percentage you acquire at graduation level is of little importance here.

Along with this you need to have computer knowledge. If you have already studied computer at school level then there is no need of submitting a separate certificate. Proficiency in local language of the State where you are intending to apply is another criteria which needs to be fulfilled.

Age Criteria:- 18-28 years

For the exam you need to stress on the following areas:-
  • Test of Reasoning - 40 questions- 40 marks
  • Test of English Language- 40 questions- 40 marks
  • Test of Numerical Ability- 40 questions- 40 marks
  • Test of General Awareness with special reference to Banking Industry- 40 questions- 40 marks
  • Test of Computer Knowledge- 40 questions- 40 marks
For the post of probationary officers as well you need to have a graduate degree in any stream from a recognized university. The degree needs to be valid one.

Age Criteria:- 20-30 years
  • Reasoning- 50 marks
  • English Language- 25 marks
  • Qunatitative Aptitude- 50 marks
  • General Awareness- 50 marks
  • Computer Knowledge- 50 marks
  • Descriptive Paper- 25 marks

If you have completed graduation degree with IT related course then you are applicable for IT Officer Exam post .Your age should be in between 21 to 34 years old.

Only graduate candidate with above 60% marks from recognized university are applicable for IBPS PO exam.Your age should be between 21 to 30 years old.

If you have Graduation degree OR Diploma degree , then you are applicable for IBPS Clerk Exam.The minimum age criteria is 20 years and maximum 28 years for general category candidates.
