IAS exam is conducted by UPSC through Civil Service Exam .This exam conduct every year .

Those candidate have completed graduation degree from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.There is not require any kind of Percentage marks for IAS Exam.

If you are from general category then your age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.

Age relaxation is provide for reserved category

For SC/ST: - 5 Years Relaxation
For OBC: - 3 Years Relaxation
For PH/OH (Gen):- 10 Years Relaxation
For PH/OH (SC/ST):- 15 Years Relaxation
For PH/OH (OBC):- 13 Years Relaxation

The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

IAS exam conduct in 3 steps like - 1)Preliminary Exam 2)Mains Exam 3)Personal Interview.

Preliminary examination has two sections and each section consist of 200 marks.Both sections are objective types questions.

Indian Administrative Service selection is done through the Civil Services Examination. The Civil Services Examination is also conducted by the Indian Police Service, Indian Forest Service and many more.

The role of IAS officer is to implement government policies. He or she is consistently required to visit areas where policies are being implemented. IAS officer has to ensure that the work is done in timely manner and there is no irrgularities with public funds.

If you want to apply for IAS better start preparing for the Civil Services Examination as soon as possible. The next examination will be conducted in 2014. You will have to apply by registering for the Civil Services Examination.

In order to prepare for the Indian Administrative Service, better start with NCERT books for Class 12th and watch a lot of news and read newspapers. You can also join coaching center to prepare for the Civil Services Examination.


IAS Eligibility

1. You should have Indian nationality.

2. Bachelor's degree in any discipline will be accpeted.

3. Only passing marks are required to apply.

4. The lower age to apply is 21 years.

5. 30 years is the upper age limit.

6. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC.

7. There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST.

8. No physical requirements for IAS.

9. General candidate is given 4 attempts to clear exam.

10. 7 attempts per OBC candidate.

11. There is no such limit for SC/ST.

This exam conducted by UPSC through Civil Services Exam in every year.

The age limit to apply this Exam:-

Age should be between 21 years to 30 years for General category candidates.

Age relaxation for OBC category candidates 3 years

and SC/ST category candidates 5 years.


Eligibility criteria:-

Candidate should be an Indian citizen.

Candidate should be completed Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University.

To become an IAS Officer you have appear/clear the prestigious Civil Services Exam(CSE).

CSE is conducted by UPSC every year to make recruitments to 24 services/posts.

After clearing CSE you can get posts like IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS,etc based on your rank in the Final Merit list.

It is conducted in 3 stages viz.
1.Prelims/CSAT Exam
2.Mains Exam

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service

IAS exam conducted by Union Public Service Commision every year.

To apply for IAS exam candidate should be an Indian Citizen.

Candidate should have Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University.

Age should between 21 to 30 years for general category.Relaxation for reserve candidate in upper age. sc/st age is 21 to 35 years, Ex-Servicemans age 21 to 35 years,obc age is 21 to 33 years and Handicapped Candidates age should be 21 to 40 years.

General category candidate have 4 attempts.obc category candidate have 7 attempts.sc/st category candidates have no limit to appear in the IAS exam .

IAS exam conduct in 3 mode-- Prilims exam, Main exam and Interview.

Prilimis Exam consist 2 papers only which covers the following areas.

Paper I --
Current events of national and international importance
History of India and Indian National Movement
Indian and World Geography
Indian Polity and Governance

Age limit for IAS exam is 21-30 years. Those who belong to reserved category are eligible to get age relaxation.

SC/ST category candidates get 5 years relaxation and OBC category gets 3 years relaxation.

You also must have qualifications other than age to become eligible for IAS examination.

The minimum qualification for IAS examination is Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University.

The selection as an IAS officer will depend upon the performance in the Preliminary exam, Mains Exam and Interview.

So get yourself prepared for the exam if you fulfill above points for IAS exam.

IAS - Indian Administrative Service and to become an IA officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year after Graduation Degree.

The age limit for IAS, Civil Service Exam, is from 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for OBC candidate up to 3 years and for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years and for Physically Handicapped up to 10 years.

Apart from this the eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University, can apply for IAS, Civil Service Examination.

The restrictions on age as well as education are as follows :-

> The aspirant has to be a graduate in any field from a recognized college..

> There is no bar on the minimum required percentage in graduation..

> The age limit of a candidate has to be within 21 to 30 years

> Upper age relaxation for OBC candidates is for 3 years and for Sc/ST candidates it is 5 years..

First you will be facing the Preliminary Examination where there are 2 objective papers on General Studies and General Awareness

If you clear the preliminary round then you will have the chance to appear for the Mains exam where 9 subjective papers shall be waiting for you..

The Mains Exam has English, essay writing, language paper and 3 of your optional subjects..

After you clear the Mains you have to go through the final personal interview round..

You can apply for the next year's Civil Services Exam..

Any Degree from Recognized University
Age limit is 21-30 years Upper Age Relaxation are OBC 3 years, SC/ST 5 years and Physically Handicapped 10 years

-General Category: 30 years
-Other Backward Classes (OBC): 33 years
-Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes: 35 years
-Blind, deaf-mute and orthopaedically handicapped persons: 40 years
There are some other upper age relaxations for certain defence personnel and persons who domiciled in J&K during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to the 31stday of December, 1989.

1-You must be passed a graduate degree from a Indian recognized university

2-There is no percentage requirement

3-Appearing in final year candidates are also eligible.

Age limits;-

General age limits is 21-30 years. Age relaxation is given reserved category students.

Age relaxation;-

3 years age relaxation for OBC category

5 years age relaxation for SC/ST category

10 years for PH candidates

Number of Attempts;-

4 times for General category Candidates
