Re: How to do degree after passing 12th or diploma in civil engineering

I can understand your confusion regarding doing diploma or taking admission for B.Tech. Let me point out couple of things to you.

If you take diploma after 10th standard, it means that after completing it you will be eligible for the B.Tech course through lateral entry scheme. But please remember that Lateral Entry admission is not offered in the Indian Institutes of Technology and National Institutes of Technology.

If you can live with it, then there is no harm in taking diploma after 10th standard. You will be able to understand the B.Tech course better by first doing the diploma.

To apply for B.Tech through lateral entry you will have to appear for the Lateral Entry Engineering Test (LEET). You can appear for this test only if completed diploma course with 60 percent marks.

There are however other entrance exams for lateral admission as well. Some colleges even take the candidates directly.

However if you want to complete graduation from top institutes like the Indian Institutes of Technology and National Institutes of Technology then it would be better to complete 12th standard.

You will have to complete 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. After which you will appear for the Joint Entrance Exam.

JEE Eligibility

1. You should complete 12th standard from recognized board.

2. The subjects should be Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

3. The diploma holders are also eligible.

4. You should be less than 25 years old to apply.

5. There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST.

6. First you will appear for JEE Mains which is conducted for All India Quota.

7. The top 150,000 will go ahead and appear for JEE Advanced which is conducted for IIT.

You want to appear Diploma in Civil engineering. Then you write CEEP exam.If you get good rank you can get seat in good polytechnic colleges where you can choose civil engineering there
Where another way to enter is appear for IIT entrance exam any engineering entrance exam.If you eligible for that exam, then you can eligible to study the civil engineering

If you are completed your intermediate you can directly apply in any degree college for your degree in any of your interested course. In some famous colleges you have to attend for counseling to.But most of private colleges directly joining the students with some entry fee.You also eligible for fee paying by government. So you no need to pay fee also.
So get to know the nearest degree colleges in your region, directly visit them and get know about them. Finally join in a good college with good and your interested stream.

Re: How to do degree after passing 12th or diploma in civil engineering

the thing is there are the two ways to the same destination . as the end product will be the same that you will have B.Tech. degree in you hand after passing the college.
if you opt diploma , and after passing out that yo could easily get admission in 2nd year of b.tech. through lateral entery.and then after that you will complete you degree in 3 years and total time take is 6 years after 10th,
as in second way you just have to clear 12th and then JEE and then get evolved yourself in B.TECH, for 4 years than again time consumption is just 6 years,
according to me no difference
but if you want you to get admissionin IIT or NIT then you would have to prefer only +2 the JEE (main and advance).
