Please refer to the Indian Institute of Science webpage http://www.iisc.ernet.in/students-corner/admissions.php dealing with admissions, etc. For doing ME/MTech, you have to have a second class degree (on paper!) and a valid GATE score. In reality, only the toppers stand a chance. The last date for online applications is 21st March and hard copy 26th March. Of course, for ME, the selection is purely based on valid GATE score, whereas for MTech, from out of short-listed candidates based on valid GATE score, there would further be an aptitude test and interview. |

Re: Admission procedure for ME/M.Tech. in CS in IISc? for taking admission in m.e computer science in iisc,u would have to appear in gate exam and get a very good percentile and rank since iisc is one of the best colleges in pg technical education.also after gate results the successful candidate will be called for interview and only then will u get selected. |

There is no separate entrance exam for admission in M.Tech. courses in IISc. As it is one of the best institution for research activities so you will have to score very well in GATE for getting admission in this institution. The GATE result will be announced on 15th March after that you can apply for admission in the college. Re: Admission procedure for ME/M.Tech. in CS in IISc? For admission to IISC for its MTech program, a candidate has to appear for the GATE exam that is conducted every year. There is no way that a student can get lateral entry. You have to appear for the GATE or the Graduate Aptitude Test In Engineering Exam which is conducted each year. GATE 2011 was recently concluded. As IISC in the premier institute in INDIA, therefore there is a great demand, and a candidate needs to score very well to be eligible for counselling in IISC or any other IIT in India. Admission is totally based on GATE score and you have to be one of the top students to qualify in GATE to apply for IISC. Re: Admission procedure for ME/M.Tech. in CS in IISc? no,there is no any other path without GATE giving GATE Exam because Gate is one is the exam from which you can get admission in IIT AND IIISC.that's you must be give this exam for admission in M.TECH. |

The admission is based on the GATE score which is corresponding to their branch in qualifying examination... if you want an admission in ME/MTECH in computer science, then BE / B Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science / Engineering (CS), Information Technology (CS), Information Science/Engineering (CS) is the requirement.... |
