Yes, you are eligible. Final year students and pass out are allowed to take IES Exam.
Yes, you are eligible .
Minimum Educational Qualifications are:-
The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the
Central or State Legislature in India or possess an equivalent qualification.Final year students are also allowed to take IES Exam

Age :- 21 years to 35 years, age relaxation for reserved candidates as per Govt guide lines i.e 3 years in upper limit for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Eligibility conditions for IES:

Age limits: Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on 1st August, 2011
The upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the notice.

Educational qualifications: Degree of a recognized university or an equivalent qualification

Physical standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the regulations given in the appendix-III of rules for the civil services examination, 2011 published in the gazette of India extraordinary dated 19th February, 2011

Number of attempts: The maximum number of attempts permissible to different categories of aspirants, who are otherwise eligible, will be as follows.

General category (04); P.H. candidates belonging to general category (07); OBC (07); SC/ST/ (no limit)

IES-INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE, this exam conducted by UPSC once every year for recruitment of Engineers in the top technical post in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics and Telecommunication dept. under Central Govt.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final B.Tech. exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years of age which the uper age relaxed for SC/St candidate up to 5 years anf for OBC up to 3 years.

As you are pursing your study in ECE stream you can apply for IES during your final year of B.Tech.

The selection will be through written exam based on the subjects from Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics and Telecommunication branch only followed by personal interview.

33 years for obc
35 years for sc/st

Yes shore you are eligible to apply to write the IES exam.
Eligibility criteria is shown below:

Any graduation from a recognised university.
Candidate must be a citizen of india.

Age should be 21 to 30years.

Final year students also eligible to appear the exam but at the time of joining you can complete your graduation.

IES exam is conducted by the UPSC once in a year.

I am afraid there is no separate reservation for any branch of study. The usual government reservations like SC, ST, etc. only are there.

IES stands for Indian Engineering Service.This exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year once to take qualified students into different department of Engineering in government sector.

To appear for IES exam,you should have completed minimum B.Tech of any one course mentioned below.
>>Mechanical Engineering
>>Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering
>>Civil Engineering
>>Electrical Engineering
And your age should be between 21 to 30 years.

If you are in final year in B.Tech of above mentioned course,then also you can appear for IES exam.

IES exam notification will release on 24th Feb 2012,closes on 25th March 2012.And exam will held on 15th June 2012.

Eligibility criteria for IES :

1. Your age should be between 21 to 30 years if you belong to the General Category.
2. For SC/ST, OBC- 3-5 years relation is given in the upper limit.

3. You should be a graduate or in the final year appearing student to apply for the IES.

Since you are doing ECE B.Tech and you are in your final year, therefore you are eligible to apply for the same.

Any graduate is allowed to appear for the IES exam. You can appear for this exam whilst in your final year too. But the condition is that there is at the time of joining for the job you should have completed your course. So you must start preparing for the exam rightaway. Solving previous year papers could help.
