IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service

This exam conducted by UPSC once in a year

Eligibility Criteria :

The candidate should be origin of India

Educational Qualification :

The candidate should pass the Bachelor degree from recognized University with any stream

Percentage not required for this exam

Final year pursuing candidates are eligible for this exam

Age limit :

Your age limit should be between 21 to 30 years

Upper age relaxation is applicable as per govt rules

3 years relaxation for OBC

5 years relaxation for SC\ST

10 years relaxation for PH

Selection Process:

Preliminary Examination

Main Examination

Interview

No of Attempts :

4 attempts for the General category

7 attempts for the OBC category

No limit of attempts for the SC\ST category

Tips TO PREPARE FOR THE upsc civil services exams:-


-Clear your basic concepts by reading NCERT Books from the school level.
-Follow the syllabus of the UPSC CSE and prepare topics accordingly.
-Read atleast 2 good newspapers daily like The Hindu,Economic Times,etc.
-Read good magazines like the CSR,Pratiyogita Darpan,Marnorama Year Book,etc.
-Read the Interviews & experiences of previous toppers of CSE and try to follow tips given by them.
-Solve previous year question papers and model test Papers
-CSAT Exam requires knowledge of subjects like geography,sociology,history,economics,english,poli tical science,environment science,etc.
-Try to study for long study hours,make notes for revision and gain indepth knowledge on all subjects in the CSE syllabus.

i am in a remote college in the north east, and so there are not many coaching institutes here. so i have planned to go get 1 year IAS coaching after my Btech. Right now i am in 2ne year, MECH..... which books do i need to follow, to start preparation from now itself?

sir i am studying B.E in 2 year i have lot of comfusion how to prepare for IAS exam what are the books required for that.so plz help me preparation for IAS exam.thank u sir.
