Securing of 60 percent marks in class XII will not be sufficient for those aspiring for IITs from 2011 as the criteria is being revised wherein higher percentage would be required which will be taken into account unlike the practice now. The government on Monday appointed a committee of IIT directors to suggest the revised entrance system under which marks obtained in class XII will be given importance along with the entrance marks. IIT JEE - Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination conducted by IIT for admission to under Graduate B.Tech. courses in IITs. The candidate should secure minimum 60% marks in aggregate in 12th level to appear for IIT JEE, the 10th percentage of marks is not a required criteria for IIT JEE. Apart from this, the eligible candidate must be an Indian Citizen having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised Board within the age of 17 to 25 years, can apply for IIT JEE. |
