Hi HImanshu I suggest you to refer GATE Electrical Engineering Vol-1 and Vol-2 by RK Kanodia..It is the best books for practice..The questions are standarized to GATE level..solutions are tricky and less time consuming..Chapter organization is also done well..I really appreciate NODIA Publication for producing such books for GATE. Good luck for your exam |

I am an Electrical engineering student apperaing in GATE 2013...one of my frend referred me GK Publications books..and I frankly speaking that book has no worth of preparation..questions are repeated, no chapter organization has done..Solutions are done with lots of mistakes(conceptual as well as printing)..I am highly disappointed with this book..so please suggest me some other book from which I can practise...reply soon |

Dear Student there is nothing such like important topics for GATE..You have to cover full breadth of GATE syllabus for scoring well .. you have to need a good understanding of the basic concepts and their application is required. By understanding, it is implied that you supposed to just be able to mug up and explain but rather this exam needs candidate to have a feel/common sense. I wish you a good luck for your exam ! |

To get good score you need to understand the concepts, if you are good in concepts you can formulate and solve problems. It starts with right Books. 1. Electric Circuits - I J Nagrath & Gopal 2. Electrical machines - Bimbhra or Nagrath & Gopal. 3. Transmission & Distribution - Wadhwa 4. Power System Analysis - I J Nagrath & Gopal. 5. Powe Electronics - Bimhbra 6. Measurements - Sawhney 7. Digital - Floyd 8. Analog Electronics -Nagrath . Tips: After reading quite well through standard texts books, practice as much problem as you can. For practicing you can follow any MCQ books available in the market. I followed GATE MCQ for EE by RK Kanodia and Ashish Murolia. If you have time, then solve previous year Gate papers also. It will boost up your confidence level. |
