Re: Eligibility criteria for B.Tech Part Time Course? Everyone is confused with Part-Time and Correnspondencence (Distance-Education). Part-Time B.Tech is only for Working professional, also parttime is not distance education. Part-Time B.Tech/B.E is valid. It helps for good promotion. For Part-time, student has to go for class like regular student, but only for 3 hrs everyday or only on weekend days. But Engineering in correspondence is utter waste and the student has to do on his own with the books provided by the university. So B.Tech distance education is not valid. |

A pass in a Diploma Course in Civil / Civil and Structural conducted by the State Board of Technical Education of Tamil Nadu or its equivalent examination with three years Professional experience in a recognized industry / organization after the Diploma Examination. |

B.Tech part time course are restricted for diploma holders with more than 2 years of work experience. The must have a pass in diploma in engineering from a renowned institution. The work experience must be related to engineering profession in a educational institution or in a company from the date of pass of Diploma. The selection will be based on an entrance exam and the marks thus scored. |

I am also a Diploma holder and Pursuing BE through part time.. You can pursue it through Sathyabama uninversity, SRM university, Anna university.. I personally recommend Sathyabama,, Because their training is awesome when compared to SRM,, and also costs less than SRM.. For anna university you must have a experience of 2 years in a relevant field whereas in Sathyabama only 1 year is acceptable... Anyway all the best for your BE.. Dont stop with you Diploma degree itself... Its no use for future... |

If possible then please do your graduation in full time mode. The eligibility for applying to part time B.Tech is to have pass 10(+2) with at least 45% marks from science background, having maths as a main subject. Good luck... |
