Re: Which are the recognized universities in India for distance course in LLB?

Not a single distance education college in India offers LLB. This course is not allowed to be offered under correspondence or distance education. It is a different degree which is offered by the distance education colleges.

Now coming to second part of your question. Not a single law degree which is completed under correspondence or distance education is valid to enroll with Bar Council. This rule applies across the country including in Kerala as well.

The Bar Council of India does not recognize distance education degree for LLB or BA LLB. Which essentially means that not a single local bar council will allow you to enroll therefore you will not be able to practice as the lawyer.

This leaves only one option for you. Pursue the LLB degree through regular mode. If you are doing a job then apply for the evening college. Please remember that you will need 80 percent attendance to pass the LLB course.

Eligibility

1. To pursue 3 years LLB, candidate must be graduate.

2. 45-50 percent marks are necessary in graduation degree.

3. There is upto 5 percent relaxation for SC and ST.

4. Upper age limit is 30 years.

5. It is only relaxed for SC/ST by 5 years.

There are few colleges in India that offers LLB. Most colleges have shifted to the integrated LLB course which is 5 years in duration. You can however still apply in Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Punjab University etc.
