If you want to apply for Merchant Navy while after completing 12th standard you should do either marine engineering or nautical science course. You can do marine engineering by writing tests like AIEEE, and other state entrance exams. Eligibility to apply for Merchant Navy: You should complete your 12th standard with PCM. The age limit should be 20 years. 5 years relaxation for SC and ST. Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Must meet physical criteria like minimum height of 150cm etc. You have the option to choose either Marine Engineering or Nautical Science course. Once you have completed the course apply for the job in Merchant Navy. Such candidates will be offered officer level job. You can also apply for Merchant Navy having completed B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical or Technology. There is a 9 months course in Marine Engineering that is offered by MERI. You will have to clear this course to get job. All the best.......... |

Re: How to apply for Merchant Navy while after completing 12th? You can apply for the Merchant Navy if completed 12th standard with subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Maths. If these subjects were not part of your 12th standard then it is impossible to apply for the Merchant Navy. Otherwise your next step would be to either join Marine Engineering course or apply for B.Sc Nautical Science. If you don't want to appear for IIT-JEE then I will urge you to go for ISEET entrance exam which is for engineering. However if you do not want to do Engineering at all, then you should go for B.Sc Nautical Science. Any way you must meet the following criteria regardless of which course you apply for. Eligibility 1. Complete 12th with PCM. 2. The age limit is 20 years. 3. 5 years relaxation for SC and ST. 4. Only unmarried candidates are eligible. 5.
