GATE Mathematics Exam - Download Previous Years Question Papers GATE examination is an all India level entrance examination for entry into M.Tech programmes in various IITs, NITs, Jadavpur University and other institutes. The exam also has a Mathematics paper. The paper carries three sections and a total eighty-fifty question. The first section has a total of twenty questions and each carries a maximum of one marks. The second section has a total of fifty-five questions and each carries a maximum of two marks. The third section has a total of ten questions and each carries a maximum of two marks. Negative marking is also there in the exam, with a maximum of one-fourth marks deducted for each of the questions answered incorrectly. All of the questions asked in the exam are Objective types and offers a maximum of four options, out of which the candidates have to choose any one.
