Is BITS Pilani MS Degree with Wipro's Wase recognised by AICTE? Is it worth doing.. Is the degree given by BITS Pillani...What is prospect of having done that...

This is not approved by AICTE. Its not a degree its special work integrated program with Wipro.If you want to persue only money and career in IT then its good. If you are really intereseted in mastering in specialization then get it through proper channel instead of WASE through Wipro. This doesn't work either in professional firms and outside where you may apply for post master academic studies. You remain graduate and the only advanatage is that you will have experience in Wipro.

No. MS degree never exist in India (i,e in software as it stands for master of science and
software giants not only WIPRO will show as MS till late 2014 but due to an notice by government\court it provides only M.Tech but not MS. And also very interestingly under UGC act it clearly states that Master of science= MSc :-( ). Due to this companies started to show MS\M.tech though they will give M.tech not MS. MS will make every one crazy due to it's name hence they started to mention MS\M.Tech though companies know about it in advance regarding UGC act.

Hey No its not approved by AICTE.Its only UGC certified.u cant do anything with that MS degree certificate . even its not valubale in other companies outside. Its not regular course. its distant education so its not approved by aicte. better u do M.tech . its valuable for job and to get seniorty position in ur company. i am saying this because i was thinking to do MS and i got this cleared by now that its not aicte approved.

I seriously suggest you guys plzzz don't take this opertunity. Because everyone is excepting that they i'll get work experience as well as MS degree. But its not the thing which is going on. Because this degree is not a valid one, and waste of time...

i would like to add a few points on this discussion .these deemed universities always have troubles with aicte.
I had done my b.e(e&c) from visvesvaraya technological university & ms in vlsi design from manipal university .
However bits is not a comparison for manipal . Bits is always top in all aspects
but the problem is with the aicte guys. These are the hell shit creatures on this earth .without der accreditation it is a big time problem to opt for teaching domain .
However ms is a par with aicte for all deemed university s.
In case if u r planning a corporate sector then these degrees will really help.
Else serioulsly trust me m.tech with aicte approval is the safest for any look corner in this world .
Cause degrees ending with tech is given only by aicte
other degrees can be issued by any other deemed university s without aicte approval .it wont be considered as technical sector

BITS course is not AICTE approved since they are a Deemed university. The government rule says only non universities (or institutes not affiliated to any university) need AICTE approval to certify that they are fit to give degrees. BITS has been one of the premier institutions of India from 1979 and they don't require this approval to prove they are the best.

I was attented to "WASE" test on Aug 27th., i was passed out all round's and i reached to HR round.. I was waiting for call letter, when they were going to send the letter.. i dont known whether i was successed in that round are not. but., the HR mam said me that.. our team will be in touch with u..! so., please send me the information whether i was passed out are not... Pls tell me that wen they will select the members and when they were going to send call letters..

hi everyone. .. this is basha. from vellore...
i've got selected by the team of wipro in one campus selection in bangalore...
The interview was happend in 18 of july..
later on i got a letter stated as " Congratulation on selected for wipro"
but the date of joining is not mentioned in that letter,,,
when would be my date of joining and is it good to join in wipro as wasian.....
coz i belongs to the family where my dad is the only bread winner.. ,,

I am a WASEIAN at Wipro

TO bring this discussion on hold
1.) BITS Pilani Degree is not recognized by AICTE
2.) The criteria for selection of students in WASE was minimum 60% in 10th 12th and bachelors
3.) The difference between WASE and WIMS
WASE
-They are into solution development and support in various technologies.Java Oracle Sibel etc
-given MS in Software Engineering

WIMS
-MS in System Engineering.
-These are into Hardware and networking at times in field Jobs also

Both are equally good and PG courses but would recommend everyone to go for a full time course than going for the same if you have some compulsion.
The best thing which I feel with this course is 4 years experience .
At times u will also feel that you are trapped for 4yrs in the company

It is not AICTE approved.. Many companies doesnt even consider this degree for the job profile.. the only thing which matters is the 4 years experience which ul get n u can enjoy the stipend ..

But the MS degree doesnt have much value...
