CPT stands for Common Proficiency Test which you can give for admission to the Chartered Accountancy Course.

This exam is held twice a year. Once at the month of June and once at the month of December.

This exam is conducted by the ICAI.

If you passed your class 10th examination which was conducted by the Central or State board then you can apply for the CPT exam. This exam can also be given after passing class 12 exam.

You need to get minimum 50% of marks in the exam to qualify. It is an exam where basically objective type questions are asked and you have to answer them very cautiously otherwise for every wrong answer you will lose 25% of the total marks alloted for that particular question.

Registration for CPT course is valid for 3 years only and after that you have to do it once again by giving registration fees and complete the whole formality

You have to answer all the questions in english and this exam can be given both online and offline.
