Re: MCA after Graduation in Arts stream? MCA stands for “Master of Computer Application” and It's an Master degree . The duration of the course is for 3 years and the course is divided into 6 semester and somewhere it is 2 years and the course is divided into 4 semester.It's vary from Institution to Institution. The Eligibility Criteria for MCA course is differ from Institution to Institution . To apply for MCA course you should complete Bachelor degree in any discipline ( i.e, Science / Commerce / Arts / Engineering ) from recognized university . You should score Minimum 60% percentage of marks . You should have Mathematics as Main Subject in 12th standard or Bachelor degree then your are eligible to apply for MCA course . The Admission for MCA course is based on the Entrance Examination and Bachelor Degree score . If your good percentage of mark in Entrance Examination then you get admission for MCA course . Every Institution may conduct entrance Examination before admission . There will a lot of Admission according to the performance in Entrance Examination . To apply for this Entrance Examination you should complete Bachelor degree in any discipline from recognized university . The candidate who are waiting for the result of Bachelor degree may also eligible to apply for this course. The MCA Entrance Examination Based on the Mathematics and Reasoning Ability . So, I suggest to go through the various mathematics books and Reasoning Ability Books or You can buy Various MCA Entrance books.I suggest you to read Mca Entrance book of Arihant publications.It's a good book. So that you may crack the MCA Entrance Examination with good percentage of marks . Re: MCA after Graduation in Arts stream? MCA is an entirely different stream from the Arts stream. For pursuing a MCA course it is a must that the candidate should have completed at least 12th and graduation with Maths as a subject. Also computers should have been one of the subjects during graduation. Since you are from the arts background the chances of you having pursued these courses is less. So incase you havnt pursued these courses you are not eligible to pursue an MCA course. |

Re: MCA after Graduation in Arts stream? Dear friend, You have not mentioned your subject in graduation. For MCA the eligibility criteria is any graduation with 50% marks but mathematics is compulsary in graduation. Some universities allow even less then 50% marks in graduation. But Math is compulsary. MCA is a very reputed post graduate degree , if possible take admission. There is a bright future in this field. All the best. |

Re: MCA after Graduation in Arts stream? to do the MCA after the graduation in the Arts stream you have to have maths in the 12th board as a subject and there even you should have a pass in the maths in the 12th board exam and with the 50% in the graduation you can apply in the colleges which provide the MCA degree....... |

Re: MCA after Graduation in Arts stream? You should give more details... Did you have Maths or computer in 12th??? Did you have maths or computer in your Graduation??? If yes then you are eligible for MCA... To get admission to MCA, you have to give various entrance exam like NIMCET, AIMCET, MAH MCA-CET, PU MCA... So prepare for it if you are eligible... |

Re: MCA after Graduation in Arts stream? Yes you can do MCA course only when you complete your intermediate course with mathematics subject. as you mention your graduation completed with the arts stream s oyour higher study with only mathematics is eligible to enter in the MCA. |

Re: MCA after Graduation in Arts stream? MCA after Graduation in Arts stream? Different Colleges Have Different Eligiblity Creteria, For Admission In MCA Course. But To Get Admission In MCA, You Must Have A Graduate Degree And You Have A Maths In Your 12th Examination. So, If You Have Pass with 50% aggregate marks in Bachelor's degree in any discipline Or Equivalent Or Relevant higher qualification With Pass in Computer or Maths at Graduation level Or Pass in Maths at 10+2 level, Then You Are Eligible to Apply for MCA Course. So, If You Have A Maths In Your 12th Exams Or In Your Graduation, Then You Are Eligible to Apply for MCA. |
