I have been selected by SBI for the post of clerk in State Bank Of Patiala.At present i am persuing B.Tech in Computer Science from GNDU/Amritsar(2nd semester).I will not be able to continue B.Tech. after joing bank. PLZ advise me whether joing a bank clerk job is good for me.

Firstly you will be on the probation period for at least one year.If you prove yourself a hardworking & a regular one then will become a permanant one.

After getting a permanant post ,there starts your promotion stage.Your labour,well behaviour and the regularity are all the factors which helps you to be promoted.

Its all an internal procedure and after attaining some seniority ,you will be automatically promoted.But sometimes selection can also be done on the basis of some exams.

Yes after joining as clerk in sbi bank you have to work for some years and after that there is exam for po in which you can appear and get promotion.

Hiiiiiiiiii congrats for your selection in sbi and i think there is internal criteria for promotion in every bank and i prefer you to apply for probationary officer bank exam which will get you direct promotion,......and ALL THE BEST ....
