as you got minimum percentage in b.tech for admission in GERMANY. so for ms i will prefer you to look for germany, with great oppurtunities and minimum cost.but admission in german universities is not as much simple as in india.so explore all option before applying.thanks for querey.

Re: Should I prefer GRE or GATE after finishing B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering?

I am a final year (Electronics Engg.) student wanting to apply for Fall 14. I've planned to take GRE, TOEFL in July 13 and submit applications by Aug 13.
What should I do in this duration (Aug 13 to the date of departure)- a research job or a short term course. How advantageous will this 8-9 months of work exp. be?
What questions can be posed by Visa Officer?
Also I am concerned over the fact that I'll not be able to show this work exp. to applied universities as i'll have to apply for admissions before joining a Job or Course.

Preferable GRE or GATE after finishing B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

You have not a good percentage in B.Tech. So It is most preferable to you to give GATE exam and do a good rank to admission a reputed college. Without M.Tech. no reputed company hire you to give a job with high salary for 65% marks in B.Tech. After complete M.Tech course no company will look seriously that what is your percentage in B.Tech. and You get a job easyly.

To choose your career you have to take considerations of your financial capabilities.
M Tech through GATE has less fees and MS through GRE has higher fees.GRE is an entrance exam for masters outside India and through GATE you can go for M tech in India and also apply for jobs in public sector companies.GATE tests your engineering knowledge and GRE tests your mathematics and English. Take all considerations in account.
GOOD LUCK.
