A candidate should have Master Degree with at least 55 % aggregate marks for general & OBC candidates and 50 % aggregate marks for SC / ST candidates is eligible. 2.) There is no age limit for SC / ST candidates. Thanks. |

SLET is the state level eligibility test.this examination is conducted to take lecturer in general colleges from any discipline. it is just similar to NET(National eligibility test) but only the difference is NET is a national level examination whereas SLET is a state level examination. after giving SLET you will be able to join as lecturer in your state only. the eligibility criterion to appear in SLET examination is you should have minimum of master degree with atleast 55%(for SC/ST candidate 50%) marks from a recognized university. the maximum age to appear in SLET examination is 30 years for general category candidate. there are 5years relaxation for reserved candidate. the various state conducting the SLET examination are * Maharashtra * Goa * Tamil Nadu (under consideration as of 14-07-2005) * Madhya Pradesh * Andhra Pradesh * Himachal Pradesh * Jammu & Kashmir * Uttar Pradesh * West Bengal * Gujarat * NE-SLET (Which includes all North Eastern states and Sikkim) * Karnataka(Under consideration as of 14-07-2005) for more information about the SLET examination visit the website http://www.sletne.org/ |

Age Limit for SLET exam: (a) For Junior Research Fellowship: The candidate must not be more than 28 years as on June 1 / December 1 for the June / December examination with relaxation up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC categories, physically handicapped and female candidates. Relaxation is also made for candidates who have done research / training at the level of postgraduate study, limited to the period spent on research / training in the subject, subject to a maximum of 5 years and supported by a certificate from the appropriate authority. For those possessing an LLM degree, 3 years age-relaxation is granted. (b) For Lectureship:No upper age limit. |

Re: Age limit for SC women to apply for SLET exam? Age Limit for SC women to apply for SLET Exam: SLET exam is conducted in many states. You have not mentioned of which state you are inquiring. But, a general eligibility criteria for slet exam are: - Minimum 50% marks for SC/ST candidates in Master's Degree - A candidate who has appeared for the qualifying exam as in the first point above but is yet to receive the results can apply for the test and will be admitted provisionally. His / her eligibility will be subject to submission of marksheet satisfying the first condition mentioned above. - Age Limit (a) For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): The upper age limit is 28 years as on July 1 / January 1 for the December / June exams respectively of the year of examination. This limit is relaxed up to 5 years in the case of SC/ST/OBC/physically handicapped and female applicants. (b) For Lectureship (LS): No upper age limit. |
