I m not that intereseted in research now. They tell IISc has very less placement opportunities as most of them are interested in research activities. I reside in Bangalore. For MTech in Aerospace or Astrophysics you need to have a First class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or allied branches are eligible for admission to specific specializations of Aerospace Engineering,and also they should have valid GATE score in disciplines to take admission in top colleges like IIT's and other universities............... Dear friend As i know if you want to do M.Tech in Aerospace then you should have your bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. As i know you complete your B.Tech in Electronics and communication so you can not apply for M.Tech in Aerospace. good luck...... |

The only one way of getting admission to the M.Tech. programs in IITs is GATE. If you have applied for GATE this year and you clear the cutoff which is generally 95 percentile (which may vary according to programs), you would be eligible to apply for the course. The Electronics and Communication engineers are eligible for following MTech programs. AE1- Aerospace Engineering GATE Paper must be AE,CE,ME or XE AM1- Applied Mechanics GATE Paper must be AE,CE,CH,CS,EC,EE,IN,ME,MT or XE CS1- Computer Science Engineering GATE Paper must be CS EE1- Electrical Engineering - Communication Systems GATE Paper must be EC EE2- Electrical Engineering - Power Systems and Power Electronics GATE Paper must be EE EE3- Electrical Engineering - Micro Electronics and VLSI Design GATE Paper must be EC EE4- Electrical Engineering - Control and Instrumentation GATE Paper must be either EC,EE or IN If you want to take admission in MTech in Aerospace Engineering and You are from EC background then you will have to appear GATE with anyone of the subjects Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Engineering Mathematics. There are some other courses in Manufacturing engineering and solid state technology to which you can apply and selection is done one the basis of suitability test and interview. Note: Here the abbreviations used are as follow: AE- Aerospace Engineering EC- Electronics and communication EE- Electrical Engineering XE- Engineering Mathematics IN- Instrumentation Engineering CS- Computer Science Engineering. The best way is that you can either write Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE) which will be conducted in the month of jan-feb of every year and get placed in top institutions like IITs or write common entrance test conducted by Anna University in the month of may-june for admissions to M.E/MTech courses. |
