Re: Minimum percentage required for BCA?

BCA stands for Bachelor of Computer Applications. This is a 3 year Graduation course being offered by number of colleges in India,

As BCA is a Graduation level course. one should have completed 12th Class from a recognized college.

The candidate should have gone through any of the following subjects in your 12th class
Mathematics
Physics
Chemistry

In many of the colleges, one can get direct admission for this course,

However there are some universities which will conduct Entrance Exam in order to give admission for this course,

You should have scored a minimum of 50% of marks in your 12th class in order to be eligible to join BCA course.

Soon after the completion of BCA course at Graduation level, I suggest you to opt for MCA course at Post Graduation level so that you will be eligible for good number of job opportunities in many of the top IT companies in India like
TCS
Infosys
Wipro
Oracle
Tech Mahendra
Google
Dell
Delloite etc

Make sure that you should have scored a minimum of 60% of marks in all your academic levels,

The selection procedure would involve
Written Exam
Group Discussion
Technical Interview
HR Interview

Wish you all the best.

Re: Minimum percentage required for BCA?

Hi,
See BCA or Bachelor of Computer Application does not have that much of a restriction. You just have to be a higher secondary degree holder. That means you must have cleared your plus 2 with a minimum of 45%-50%( depending on the institute you join and number of candidates opting for that very institute). You just have to have pass the plus 2 level with English. Although it is not a norm but I would also suggest that it will be even better if you have Physics and Mathematics in your higher secondary level as BCA has subjects related to computer science and discreet mathematics.

Re: Minimum percentage required for BCA?

To pursue the BCA course, you must have completed 12th with science from a recognized institute. You have to score at least 50% marks in the qualifying exam to get admission to the course. The science subjects must be Chemistry and Physics. Some institutes also insist students should have pursued Mathematics in 12th. Recently, many of the universities introduced new eligibility criteria to select the apt candidates. One of those criteria is to possess a Certificate in Computing known as CIC.
