Re: Maximum age limit to appear for CTET?

There is no age limit to appear in CTET exam but there are several other eligibility that you are require to meet in order to appear in the CTET entrance exam.

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted by HRD Ministry of Central Government to select eligible teachers for the central government schools, Kandriya Vidhalaya, Tibetan Schools and various other schools that are funded by the central government.

The aim of CTET exam is to ensure that right candidate is given the job of teacher in government schools. The reason this exam was started to ensure that standard of teaching in government schools could be lifted. The decision came after facing huge criticism and several studies that showed that several teachers in the government schools were not eligible enough for the job.

There are two entrance exams, first is CTET which as I mentioned is conducted by central government, second exam is TET which is separately conducted by each state to fill the vaccant teaching jobs in the schools that are operated by the state government.

After passing CTET you would be eligible to apply for teaching job for Class I to Class VIII. The CTET is very difficult exam as only less than 7 percent candidates makes the cut. On the other hand TET conducted by each state respectively is much easier in comparison. But if you are looking to work in private schools at some point in future that are affiliated with CBSE then CTET is more important.

Eligibility for CTET

~~ Only Indian citizens may apply

~~ A graduation degree in any stream like BA, B.Com, B.Sc etc.

~~ You will also need B.Ed degree with at least 55 percent marks.

~~ As I said earlier there is no age limit.
