Hi

UGC NET exam consist of three papers which are divided in to two
parts. So basically NET exam is divided into two parts and there
are three papers conducted in the NET examination.

Session Paper Marks

1st I 100
1st II 100
2nd III 200

Paper I: Paper is based on general ability, general awareness,
comprehension and reasoning. The candidate has to score
at least 40 marks to qualify the marks. For SC/ST/PH candidates
minimum marks is 35.

Paper II: This paper is based on the optional subject selected by the
candidate. To qualify this exam the candidate has to score at least
40 marks and for SC/ST/PH candidates 35 marks is required.

Paper III:This paper is conducted when the candidate has qualified
the paper I and paper II. To qualify this paper candidate has to score
50% marks and for SC/ST/PH candidates 45% is required.

EXAM SCHEME FOR SINGLE PAPER CSIR-UGC NET Exam

This New pattern is Implementing from This Year June Exam.

CSIR-UGC NET Exam for Science stream is conducted by CSIR in the following areas: -
  1. Chemical Sciences
  2. Earth Sciences
  3. Life Sciences
  4. Mathematical Sciences
  5. Physical Sciences
  • It has been decided to introduce Single Paper MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) based test from June 2011 exam. The pattern for the Single Paper MCQ test shall be as given below:-


    • The MCQ test paper of each subject shall carry a maximum of 200 marks.
    • The exam shall be for duration of three hours.
    • The question paper shall be divided in three parts
  • Part 'A' shall be common to all subjects. This part shall be a test containing a maximum of 20 questions of General Science and Research Aptitude test. The candidates shall be required to answer any 15 questions of two marks each. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200

  • Part 'B' shall contain subject-related conventional MCQs. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 70 out of 200. The maximum number of questions to be attempted shall be in the range of 25-35.

  • Part 'C' shall contain higher value questions that may test the candidate's knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be of analytical nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 100 out of 200.
  • Note* A negative marking for wrong answers, wherever required, shall be @ 25%

Latest exam pattern of NET computer science exam are as follows: -

A. Technical (Related to Computer Science) =

1. BASIC MATHEMATICS
2. THEORY OF COMPUTATION
3. COMPUTER HARDWARE
4. PROGRAMMING AND DATA STRUCTURE
5. COMPUTER ORGANIZATION
6. DATABASE SYSTEM
7. LANGUAGE PROCESSOR
8. OPERATING SYSTEM


B. Non-Technical = Reasoning, General Knowledge, Aptitude, Current affairs, etc.

NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST (NET)

Pattern for NET exam will be divided in two parts:--

PART A(two and a half hour)

There will be 40 objective type questions and Candidates are required to answer any 25 questions.
If candidate answers more than 25 questions, only the first 25 answers will be evaluated.
All questions shall be of 2 marks each. and there will be negative marks for each wrong answer..

Syllabus:---

  1. General information on Science and its interface with society to test the candidate’s awareness of science, aptitude of scientific and quantitative reasoning.
  2. COMMON ELEMENTRY COMPUTER SCIENCE:
  • PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS
  • SIMPLE ALGORITHMS AND COMMPUTATIONAL METHODS

PART B(two and a half hour)

Syllabus:--

It will contain specilalized subject choosed by candidate and since your specialization is COMPUTER science..your syllabus with sample paper i have attached with this message...
