Re: How many and which subjects should I select for IAS?

You did not mention the highest level of academic qualification that you have. In order to apply for IAS, one should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.

So, it is not a problem at all for you with regard to the stream that you have completed either at 10+2 level or at Graduation level bu the thing is that successful completion of Graduation is required for the candidates to apply for IAS Exam.

The candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation can also apply for this Exam but they should be able to show the proof of passing in Graduation when they appear for Interview.

The selection procedure will be as follows
CSAT Exam
Civil Services Main Exam
Interview

CSAT Exam will be conducted on the following areas
-Current Affairs
-General English
-Aptitude

But for Main Exam, you have to select 1 optional subject out of the available list of optional subjects for Main Exam.

So, I suggest you to choose the optional subject for Main Exam in accordance with the stream that you have gone through in your Graduation.

Check yourself with the above mentioned criteria and confirm your eligibility.

Apply for the Exam as and when the notification is released and crack the exam with strong preparation.

Wish you all the best.
